They’re redefining healthcare by putting the customer first and delivering access to care that is affordable, accessible, and personal—from diagnosis to treatment to delivery. ## About the Role Hims & Hers is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, results-driven **Staff Software Engineer (Frontend)** to build, test, deploy, and support a **self-service platform** used for **pharmacy operations and customer order fulfillment**. As a technical voice within the **Fulfillment and Pharmacy Engineering Front End** team, you’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and engineering leaders to deliver solutions that are **safe, reliable, scalable, and adaptable**. ## You Will - Lead the architecture of **scalable, maintainable, high-performance** front-end solutions aligned with product requirements - Partner with technical leaders to identify and drive adoption of **common frameworks, patterns, and practices** - Establish and foster **best practices, design patterns, and coding standards** across the Front End team - Guide responsible adoption of **AI** in the software development process—improving team output while maintaining **patient safety, quality, and maintainability** - Support Front End engineers through **pair programming, mentorship, thorough technical documentation**, and other growth opportunities - Initiate efforts to **reduce technical debt** and improve **workflow efficiency** - Implement tools/processes for **monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization** - Define a **multi-quarter front-end architecture roadmap** for Pharmacy & Fulfillment and break it into deliverables others can pick up - Collaborate with designers to create **intuitive, engaging user experiences** - Conduct **design and code reviews** and facilitate **knowledge-sharing** - Stay current on industry trends/standards to propose innovative enhancements ## You Have - **10+ years** of software engineering experience, including setting front-end technical direction across multiple teams - Proven experience building **scalable web applications/services**, preferably in a cloud environment - Proficiency with front-end technologies: **HTML, CSS, JavaScript** and frameworks such as **React, React Native, Next.js, TypeScript** - Experience with back-end technologies such as **Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Redis** - Experience with monitoring and CI/CD tools (e.g., **Datadog, GitHub Actions, CircleCI**) - Hands-on experience using **AI tools in real engineering workflows**, with strong judgment about where they help vs. where they don’t - Strong problem-solving and strategic/critical thinking - Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration - Ability to prioritize multiple projects to meet goals without heavy management oversight ## Preferred Experience - Brings clarity in ambiguous situations; acts as a stabilizing influence during uncertainty - Builds trust and collaboration across diverse teams - Balances confidence with humility; addresses conflicts constructively and with empathy - Drives execution with urgency and focus on critical priorities - Champions customer-centric design and ensures customer priorities are reflected - Demonstrates accountability and ownership of outcomes and long-term system success - Proactively identifies and addresses risks/gaps without waiting for directi
