About this role
## Why this role matters Our customers build rockets, satellites, eVTOLs, clean energy systems, robots, and autonomous vehicles. First Resonance builds the **ION Factory OS**—the operating system their factories run on. Integrations are the difference between ION being the system of record for how something gets built vs. “one more tab.” This role owns integrations end to end so customers get real value quickly—and reliably. ## What you’ll own - **Customer integrations (end to end):** Discovery & requirements → architecture → estimation → build → test → go-live → documentation → handoff. - **The translation layer:** Turn how customers manage parts, BOMs, purchase orders, receipts, inventory, work orders, quality, and engineering changes into a production-ready design. - **Build-versus-partner decisions:** Decide whether to implement directly, reuse an existing connector, enable the customer’s team, or bring in a systems integration partner—then scope work, set acceptance criteria, review quality, and hold delivery. - **Production reliability:** Monitoring, alerting, retries, reconciliation, auditability, and incident response for integrations customers depend on. - **Reusable leverage:** Convert one-off work into connectors, reference architectures, test harnesses, runbooks, and documentation. - **Platform feedback:** Identify recurring gaps in ION’s APIs, eventing, and data model, and work with Product/Engineering to close them. ## What we’re looking for - **6+ years** in customer-facing or delivery-oriented engineering (solutions architecture, integration engineering, forward deployed engineering, or technical consulting), including shipping **production code**. - Experience taking a **complex enterprise integration** from a vague first conversation to **reliable production**. - Strong **API-based integration** depth: REST/GraphQL, webhooks, auth protocols, async processing, and data transformation. - Distributed-systems instincts: **idempotency, ordering, retries, reconciliation, observability**. - Ability to sit with a customer’s manufacturing or IT team, understand an ambiguous process, and leave with a scoped technical plan. - Clear communication to explain architecture, tradeoffs, and risks to both technical and operational leadership. ## Nice to have - Manufacturing systems experience (ERP/PLM/MES/procurement/finance/warehouse platforms).
