**Forward Deployed Software Engineer (Los Angeles)** **Location:** Los Angeles, CA ## Overview The Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE) is an elite problem-solver deployed to customers’ sites to tackle their most demanding challenges. You’ll work closely with customers, deeply understand their operations, and build tailored software solutions that integrate seamlessly with ION. If you’re excited to support eVTOLs, rockets, robots, and autonomous vehicles makers, this role lets you directly impact customers’ ability to achieve their goals—by interpreting needs, developing solutions from concept to delivery, and ensuring high customer satisfaction. ## Responsibilities & Duties - Serve as a deployed technical expert: hands-on support for implementation, usage, and further development of ION - Collaborate with customers to understand pressing problems and develop coherent strategies and intelligent solutions (e.g., custom web apps, large-scale data work) - Take total ownership of developing and delivering solutions while maintaining high customer satisfaction - Write clean, scalable, maintainable code across the stack - Work in small teams and own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects - Partner with the First Resonance team to continuously improve the product based on customer feedback and requirements ## Minimum Qualifications & Skills - Strong engineering background (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, Data Science) - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders (customers, customer leadership, and First Resonance teams) - Experience shipping production-quality code - Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals in dynamic environments - Willingness to travel up to **40%** to customer sites ## Desired Qualifications - Experience in manufacturing (e.g., Product Manager or Lead Engineer) - Experience with **Python** and/or **React (TypeScript)** - Experience (or curiosity) working with large-scale data to solve customer-facing problems - Comfortable in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with an entrepreneurial spirit ## Benefits & Perks - Health Insurance (medical, vision, dental, life) - Paid Parental Leave - Employee Stock Option Plan - Team outings, group lunches, open office, happy hours - Paid holidays, sick days - Flexible Friday and PTO - 401K *First Resonance is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
