About this role

**ABOUT US** Fireworks is the platform for specialized intelligence, enabling companies to build, train, and serve AI models tailored to their own data, workflows, and products. Founded by the team behind PyTorch and backed by AMD and leading investors, Fireworks powers production AI with hundreds of state-of-the-art open models across text, image, embedding, audio, and multimodal workloads. **THE ROLE — Enterprise Foundations** Enterprise Foundations builds the capabilities large companies need before they can run their business on Fireworks. You’ll own end-to-end features that start from customer conversations and evolve into changes across the control plane, training and inference stacks, SDK/CLI, and the console—shipped safely against live production traffic. This work is foundational: you’ll design new primitives that other teams build on, rolled out without breaking existing callers. The work sits close to revenue, with requirements coming from live enterprise deals, security reviews, and customer conversations. **WHAT YOU’LL DO** - Own foundational capabilities end to end: data model & API across control plane, runtime, SDK/CLI, and console - Migrate live systems onto new primitives - Design primitives large customers organize around (organizations, sub-accounts, groups, roles, service identities) - Connect enterprise directories via federation and provisioning (SSO, SCIM) - Build multi-tenant authorization, policy enforcement, and audit systems that stand up to security review - Implement usage metering, spend controls, and billing that are correct and legible at scale - Ensure customers can reconcile Fireworks numbers against their own - Own data isolation and key management (customer-managed encryption keys across AWS, GCP, and Azure) - Deploy and operate Fireworks inside customer clouds, solving data residency and regional isolation - Use AI tooling aggressively and automate where possible **YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF** - Your work is measured in unblocked revenue, not tickets closed - You’re comfortable owning domains you haven’t worked in before - You want the whole problem (data model through UI) and don’t need someone else to define the boundaries - You can partner effectively with enterprise security architects - You’d rather ship what closes the deal than perfect abstractions - You treat ambiguity as part of the job **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** - 4+ years building and operating production backend or distributed systems at scale - Strong server-side engineering skills in Go, Python, C++, TypeScript, or similar (and willingness to work across layers) - Experience designing APIs and data models used by other teams under live traffic - Hands-on depth in at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure): IAM/workload identity, KMS, object storage, and VPC networking - Track record owning an ambiguous, cross-team workstream from requirement through production - Willingness to work directly with customers **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** - Enterprise identity & tenancy: SSO, SCIM, RBAC/ABAC, audit logging, org modeling - Metering, quotas, or billing systems where correctness is customer-visible - Applied cryptography and key management (envelope encryption, KMS, threat modeling) - Kubernetes depth and infrastructure-as-code fluency (Terraform, GitOps) - Familiarity with LLM inference and fine-tuning **WHY FIREWORKS?** - **Solve Hard Problems:** Tackle challenges at the forefront of AI infrastructure - **Build What’s Next:** Work with
