**Toast — Manager, Software Engineering (GTM)** Toast builds technology that helps restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world—supporting business operations, increasing sales, engaging customers, and keeping employees happy. As an **Engineering Manager focused on GTM**, you’ll lead a fast-paced team of engineers delivering solutions that support business goals and release features that drive value for both internal teams and Toast customers. You’ll validate technical decisions, guide scalable engineering, and partner closely with business stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure high-quality delivery. --- ## Responsibilities - **Champion AI-first engineering**: Use AI tools and practices to accelerate development, improve team velocity, and set the bar for an AI-first organization. - **Manage day-to-day engineering execution**: Oversee engineers delivering new features and enhancements critical to Toast’s growth. - **Own technical delivery for Quoting & Catalog Management**: Lead planning, delivery, issue resolution, milestone tracking, and mentorship for core workflows including **Salesforce CPQ**, **Product Catalog**, and other GTM solutions. - **Review and contribute to complex delivery**: Provide code review expertise across platforms/tools within your ownership area and support release/capacity planning. - **Lead cross-functional ceremonies**: Facilitate discovery and execution with engineering, research, design, and QA. - **Partner with stakeholders**: Communicate transparently with Sales, Product, RevOps, and others—evaluate new technologies, share trade-offs, and evolve domain knowledge through ongoing customer/competitor/market research. --- ## Requirements - Experience delivering high-impact **Quoting, Catalog Management, and GTM** initiatives as part of or leading a technical team. - **Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science** (or equivalent experience). - Strong knowledge of **Quoting & Catalog Management systems** (e.g., **Salesforce CPQ**, Product Catalog, Pricing Rules) and technologies (e.g., **REST, SOAP, ETL**). - Implementation experience on systems projects with **large transactional volume** and complex design across disparate systems. - Experience collaborating with product owners across **Sales, RevOps, Product Management, and Data Analytics**. - Experience building and retaining a highly talented team. --- ## Nice to Haves - Hands-on Salesforce and solution architecture review experience. - Experience with **CI/CD best practices** and **Git**. - Experience working with **3rd-party development teams**. - Leadership in **product selection** (e.g., RFP creation/response evaluation) and **vendor management**. --- ## Apply Toast is committed to an accessible and inclusive hiring process.
