**Capital Technology Group (CTG)** **Client Requirements** - Applicants **MUST BE** **US Citizens** and be able to obtain **Public Trust** clearance. **About the Role** CTG is seeking a **Sr Platform Engineer Lead** to lead the design, automation, and reliability of the cloud platforms behind mission-critical federal systems. You’ll set technical direction, raise the bar on reliability, and grow the engineers around you. **You Will Get To** - Lead the architecture, build, and evolution of secure, scalable cloud platforms for federal mission needs - Own cloud **Infrastructure-as-Code** standards and implementation using **Terraform** (or similar) - Design, automate, and maintain **CI/CD** pipelines for fast, safe, repeatable delivery - Define and track reliability practices: **SLIs/SLOs**, monitoring, alerting, and observability - Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortems—driving lasting fixes - Build automation to reduce manual work, improve resilience, and speed delivery - Design runbooks/procedures for troubleshooting, maintenance, and disaster recovery - Evaluate emerging technologies via prototypes/POCs, weighing benefits and risks - Partner with development, architecture, security, and product teams to deliver production-ready solutions - Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and platform decisions - Mentor engineers and establish platform engineering standards and best practices **Who You Are** - A senior technical leader who enjoys solving complex infrastructure and reliability problems at scale - You automate first and build systems that are easy to operate and recover - Comfortable leading technical conversations and influencing engineering direction - Calm and methodical during production incidents - Collaborative, proactive, and quick to ramp on new projects/technologies - Passionate about building secure, high-quality systems in mission-driven environments **Qualifications** - **Bachelor’s degree** in CS/IS or related field (or equivalent experience) - **9+ years** professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure engineering (including technical leadership) - Experience with governance processes, technical standards, formal change management, or shared enterprise services - Ability to identify dependencies and articulate resource needs, tradeoffs, risks, and decisions - Strong hands-on experience with **Docker & Kubernetes**, **Git**, **Linux**, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) - Proven experience managing **Infrastructure-as-Code** with **Terraform** (or similar) - Experience designing/operating workloads in the cloud (**AWS preferred**; GCP/Azure considered) - Experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch) - Proficiency in scripting/automation (Bash, Python, or Go) - Working knowledge of databases and SQL - Experience troubleshooting production systems, performance tuning, and leading root cause analysis - Understanding of **DevSecOps** practices and secure infrastructure principles - Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills **Nice to Have** - Experience producing product status updates, operational metrics, dashboards, and risk narratives - Strong stakeholder management across product/program/engineering/security/operations - Experience coordinating shared resources or cross-team technical dependencies - People management experience - Experienc
