We work hard and care deeply about our people. ## Who You Are Justworks is looking for an experienced, hands-on **Senior Security Engineer specializing in AI**. You will drive and execute the company’s AI strategy and Digital Security’s objectives—building and enhancing security solutions that defend against unique AI threats. You have hands-on experience evaluating the security of software systems with AI features and designing **guardrails** to protect data against AI-specific threats. You also have strong fundamentals in computing and development/coding with **Ruby on Rails**, **JavaScript**, and/or other languages, plus experience in ***nix environments** and common cybersecurity tools. ## What You Will Work On - Research AI threats, AI vulnerabilities, remediations, and advance AI security controls - Evaluate and assess AI tools; contribute to AI system management and governance - Assess existing AI security controls and identify opportunities to improve security posture and software design - Collaborate with other security engineers to deliver security capabilities across Justworks - Provide technical and architectural guidance on AI security to product managers, product engineers, and corporate IT - Execute and deliver on the AI roadmap (including implementing AI security capabilities in **AWS**) - Develop AI security architecture and design standards across applications and infrastructure - Participate in AI R&D and major AI initiatives to ensure appropriate security controls are built before production cutover - Drive process improvement and control implementation projects with the Digital Technology team - Serve as a cross-functional tools/services expert with engineering and risk teams to define AI security control requirements - Help Cyber Defense Operations triage AI-related security incidents in internal networks and AWS production environments - Champion AI implementation within Digital Security by helping teams implement AI models for effectiveness and efficiency in security controls, security operations, and risk management ## How You Will Do Your Work Success in this role is anchored in: - **Good judgment**: critical thinking, risk understanding, mitigation strategies, and ownership - **Resourcefulness**: can-do mindset, optimizing what’s available, improving how work gets done - **Teamwork & communication**: documentation, collaboration, relationship-building, listening, empathy, and evangelism - **Influence & leadership**: knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and forward-thinking - **Skills & knowledge**: continuous learning and applying best practices Justworkers also aligns behaviors to **COGIS**: - **Camaraderie** - **Openness** - **Grit** - **Integrity** - **Simplicity** ## Qualifications - **5+ years** in information security concepts, technical security controls, and security architecture design (ideally SaaS) - **2+ years** hands-on experience securing AI systems, evaluating AI threats, and implementing AI security controls - Background as a software engineer, security architect, or security engineer with AI security control implementation experience in **AWS** - Experience deploying AI engineering tools (e.g., vector databases, model hosting/mon
