## Senior Infrastructure Engineer — Network Infrastructure Plaid is building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create products that help people manage their finances. Plaid powers connections to financial accounts for millions of people and supports thousands of companies and major financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK, and Europe. As an **Infrastructure Engineer on Network Infrastructure**, you’ll own key parts of the network that every Plaid product depends on. You’ll plan and lead company-wide changes (e.g., upgrading service mesh, modernizing cloud network components) and deliver them safely—without disrupting customers. You’ll also build self-serve tooling for product engineers, strengthen security/compliance boundaries, and help debug complex network issues. ### Responsibilities - Lead company-wide network changes (e.g., **service mesh upgrades**, **gateway migrations**) using staged rollouts so customers see no disruption. - Simplify and modernize the cloud network to reduce risk and improve operability. - Build self-serve tools in **Go** and **Terraform** so product engineers can expose, route, and secure their services independently. - Strengthen security and compliance boundaries in the network without slowing developers down. - Debug complex network issues and turn learnings into better alerts, dashboards, and guardrails. - Participate in on-call and lead incident response for network issues; drive follow-up fixes. ### Qualifications - Experience running production infrastructure at scale (Infrastructure, SRE, or Network Engineering). - Strong networking fundamentals: **TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP, load balancing**. - Hands-on experience with **Kubernetes networking** (e.g., CNI, service mesh, ingress). - Cloud networking experience, ideally **AWS**. - Ability to write code in **Go** or **Python**. - Proven ability to make large production changes safely, with a rollback plan. **Nice-to-Have** - Production experience with **Istio, Envoy, or Cilium**. ### Additional Notes - Plaid is committed to building a diverse team and encourages applications even if you don’t fully match every requirement. - Plaid provides a comprehensive benefits plan (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
