## Solutions Engineer Join Choco and help reshape a broken food system. Choco builds software used daily by food distributors to automate orders, reduce errors, and make operations faster and more reliable. ### Mission As a **Solutions Engineer**, you’ll deliver **fast, reliable, API-driven integrations** for mid-market customers by translating business workflows into scalable, repeatable technical solutions. This role is **primarily customer-facing**, focused on **solution design and customer outcomes** (not traditional software development). You’ll build integrations mainly with **low-code tools**, using light scripting when needed. ### What you’ll do - Design, build, and deliver integrations between Choco and customer systems using low-code tools (e.g., **n8n** and **Tray.ai**). - Own integration projects end-to-end—from discovery to go-live and ongoing improvement. - Partner with Account Executives in pre-sales by leading technical discovery, proofs of concept, and integration scoping. - Troubleshoot and maintain integrations to ensure reliability and performance; document designs for clean handoffs to Customer Success. - Collaborate with Customer Success, Implementation, and Product teams; share customer feedback to shape the product roadmap. - Share best practices and help scale integration delivery globally. ### What you bring - **2+ years** experience in solutions engineering, IT/ERP consulting, or systems integration. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Experience managing end-to-end API integrations: requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support across multiple customer environments. - Experience with low-code/automation tools such as **n8n, Zapier, and Tray.ai**. - Basic programming knowledge (e.g., **JavaScript** or **Python**) and working knowledge of **REST APIs**, **JSON/XML**, **webhooks**, **authentication** (OAuth, API keys), and data mapping. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative, solution-focused mindset. - Excellent communication skills—able to make complex ideas clear and simple. - **In-office attendance 3 days per week (T/W/Th)** in the **Chicago** office. ### Nice to have - Experience with ERP or ordering systems common among food and beverage distributors. - Background in food distribution, supply chain, or B2B SaaS. - Familiarity with **EDI**, **SFTP/flat-file** integrations, or basic **SQL**. - Comfort using **AI tools** to speed up discovery, documentation, and integration builds. ### What you get - Work on digitalizing core operating systems for food distributors—automating orders, sales, and payments. - Join an AI product with proven product-market fit, embedded in distributor workflows and impacting order accuracy, speed, and margins. - A global team across **6 countries** and **40+ nationalities**; raised **$300M+** and reached **unicorn status** (~$1.2B valuation). - Real ownership, **equity**, competitive compensation, health & wellbeing support, and long-term benefits like a **sabbatical** (localized by office). - Collaborate with people focused on owning outcomes in a messy, real-world system—and making it work at scale.
