We use Machine Learning extensively to build a more connected, empowered, and safer global community—enabling an intelligent, worry-free travel experience. ## The Difference You Will Make In this role, you’ll help build a suite of tools that forms the foundation for how ML & AI is created at Airbnb. You’ll contribute to a scalable shared platform that accelerates the pace of ML design, development, and deployment of high-quality, high-impact ML use cases across the company. You’ll also help create the GenAI infrastructure that brings AI to the center of Airbnb’s business. ## A Typical Day - Build scalable GenAI infrastructure to support the fast-evolving needs of Airbnb teams using foundational language/vision models for next-gen product experiences - Drive expansions of the ML platform to improve productivity for 200+ ML Engineers & Data Scientists - Create solid data foundations for data-driven product features (e.g., Categories) by building scalable human & AI labeling infrastructure - Use OSS technologies such as Ray, MLflow, TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, Airflow, Spark, Docker, Kubernetes, JupyterHub, and more - Work side-by-side with customer teams including Customer Support, Search Relevance, and Trust & Safety to deliver high-impact product wins ## Your Expertise - 9+ years of industry experience (and/or relevant academic experience) - Strong understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices - Strong coding skills in Python/Java (or equivalent) - Strong experience and knowledge of distributed systems - Plus: experience building end-to-end Machine Learning Platforms - Plus: experience developing and productionizing machine learning models - Plus: experience with Kubernetes, Spark, Docker, Airflow ## Your Location US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager.
