We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference, backed by hundreds of millions from top-tier investors. ### Job Summary As an **IT Engineer**, you’ll ensure everyone can perform at their highest level by keeping Etched’s high-performance engineering and operations environment running smoothly. You’ll drive company-wide productivity, empower engineers with the right tools and infrastructure, and champion operational excellence across IT systems. ### Key Responsibilities - Provide hands-on IT delivery and support across the firm (ASIC design, software/platform engineering, business operations, and scale-out computing) - Lead onboarding and offboarding to ensure seamless access aligned with engineering and leadership workflows - Maintain documentation for IT assets, systems, access protocols, and ticket workflows - Manage on-site and remote laptops, desktops, and networking equipment (ease of use, security, and remote manageability) - Deploy and administer **MDM/MAM** for **Mac and Windows** devices - Implement and maintain **antivirus/antimalware**, **EDR**, and **XDR** - Drive hardware procurement, staging, imaging, and maintenance for development and operations teams - Implement and administer **Single Sign-On (SSO)** across core services (e.g., **Okta** is a bonus) - Automate user provisioning/deprovisioning using **Rippling**, **Okta**, **Google Workspace**, and **FreeIPA** - Enforce role-based access controls and audit trails aligned with compliance/security standards - Design, deploy, and maintain wired/wireless networks (Wi-Fi access points and controller administration) - Configure and manage **VPN** infrastructure for secure remote access - Administer firewalls (segmentation, policy enforcement, protection of sensitive environments) - Develop automation scripts (**Python, Bash, PowerShell**) for provisioning, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle management - Integrate monitoring and alerting to reduce manual workload and improve reliability - Champion operational excellence and ensure IT systems meet compliance standards (e.g., **SOC 2**, **ISO 27001**) - Coordinate with external vendors/partners to evaluate products and resolve IT issues - Partner with engineering, security, and operations to align IT strategy with business and technical goals ### Representative Projects - Managing a mixed-OS engineering environment (Linux for EDA tools, Windows/macOS for general use), including imaging, patching, and security hardening - Designing and maintaining secure network infrastructure (VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, access control) to protect chip design IP - Implementing and managing endpoint/device lifecycle systems (procurement, setup, MDM, retirement) - Deploying and integrating compute resources (on-prem servers and cloud) to support large-scale simulations and hardware workflows - Building scalable onboarding/offboarding and IT automation workflows for fast, secure ramp-up ### You May Be a Good Fit If You Have - **5–7+ years** in IT support or engineering with experience across **macOS, Windows, and Linux** - Strong problem-solving with proactive, ownership-driven mindset - Experience in a fast-paced startup environment - Endpoint management experience (e.g., **JumpCloud, Jamf, Intune, Kandji
