Our Cyber Defense team proactively identifies and mitigates internal and external threat actors, and investigates and responds to cybersecurity incidents. **About the Role** The Senior Director, Global Cyber Defense will lead DoorDash’s Cyber Defense organization, including Incident Response, Detection Engineering, Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, and Insider Threat teams across the company and its subsidiaries globally. You will report directly to the Global Chief Security Officer and ensure the organization’s security posture by proactively identifying, investigating, and mitigating cybersecurity threats and incidents, and by developing and implementing strategic plans, policies, and procedures. **You’ll be excited about this opportunity because you will…** - Work directly with the CSO and other senior leaders to align Cyber Defense strategy with DoorDash business objectives - Lead response to information security incidents, including investigation, countermeasures, and recovery from cyber attacks, unauthorized access, and policy breaches - Coordinate with incident responders, cross-functional partners, and external law enforcement - Identify and investigate insider threats in partnership with Legal, Fraud, and HR - Evaluate and implement advanced threat detection technologies and techniques to enhance detection capabilities - Collect and analyze information security threat intelligence to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate top threats - Grow and mature an engineering-first Cyber Defense program using scalable services/processes and mature + frontier AI technologies - Define and deliver on SLAs to raise the bar in operational resilience and excellence - Mentor and train security engineers and managers, fostering continuous learning and collaboration **We’re excited about you because you have…** - 15+ years of cyber defense experience, including 10+ in a cloud-native environment - 10+ years of people management experience within a security organization - Experience leading global incident response and security operations teams at technology companies - Deep technical expertise across cyber defense functional areas - Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills - Strong collaboration skills across IT, legal, compliance, HR, and business units - Familiarity with cyber defense platforms (e.g., SIEM) and their implementation - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse environment **Compensation & Benefits (US)** - National base pay range (US, including Illinois and Colorado): **$349,600 — $437,000 USD** - Base salary is localized by work location; equity grants may be included - Comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with employer matching, paid parental leave, wellness benefits, commuter benefits match, paid time off and paid sick leave (per applicable law), medical/dental/vision, paid holidays, disability/basic life insurance, family-forming assistance, and a mental health program **About DoorDash** DoorDash’s mission empowers local economies.
