About this role

**Senior Software Engineer - Platform Infrastructure** ## Why We Have This Role The Platform Infrastructure team builds and operates foundational software that engineering teams use to run their services. This role focuses on making platform workloads more cost-effective—through tooling and frameworks that help teams monitor and optimize CPU and memory usage. The team runs **EKS** and supports engineering teams across Qualtrics (with **PGF** currently an exception until it is rolled in). You’ll also build services in **Golang** and work on **Kubernetes orchestration** as the platform evolves. Engineering teams are the platform’s customers, and you’ll collaborate across **service discovery** and **orchestration**. ## How You’ll Find Success - Deep knowledge in open source tooling/technologies (e.g., Linux systems) - Build productive relationships with other platform teams, AWS counterparts, security, and compliance teams - Design with scalability in mind—both technically and organizationally - Maintain a customer-obsessed mindset when working with application teams ## How You’ll Grow - Expand expertise in container orchestration by building the runtime foundation for Qualtrics engineering - Drive efficiency at scale across the platform (cost optimization and performance) - Build services that support engineering teams across all of Qualtrics ## Things You’ll Do - Influence how engineers run applications using best-in-class tooling and services - Create, deploy, and operate services to exceed goals for availability, scalability, and performance - Help define how Qualtrics engineers operate containerized workloads - Architect services and design best practices for service discovery across Qualtrics engineering - Participate in periodic on-call responsibilities as part of a global team ## What We’re Looking For On Your Resume - 5+ years of experience developing and operating large-scale software systems - Experience with professional software engineering practices (unit testing, code reviews, design documents) - Experience with Go and scripting languages like Bash - Experience building software/systems that serve multiple teams or an entire company - Kubernetes experience (ideally EKS), including workload/resource management, nodepool management, and policy enforcement - Strong debugging skills in a Linux environment - Systems engineering background is welcome when paired with production software development experience (not purely Linux/system administration) ## What You Should Know About This Team - Close collaboration with AWS, aligning with AWS TAMs on enterprise container orchestration roadmap items - Work at tremendous scale—services must support the full Qualtrics engineering landscape (thousands of hosts across global regions) - The team sits alongside other internal platforms/infrastructure/developer experience teams, with a high bar for transparent discussion and rigorous design reviews ## Team Perks & Benefits (Highlights) - Fun, collaborative office environment with amenities, food, drinks, outdoor space, and pinball - Quarterly team offsites - Education budget - QED (Qualtrics Engineer Development) Program: invest up to 10% of time each quarter to advance your career ## Hybrid Work Model - Gather in the office **three days a week** (Mondays and Thursdays, plus one additional day selected by your organizational leader) - For the rest of the week, work where you want—owning the integration of work and life ## Pay Transp
