You’ll be expected to integrate AI into your workflows, adopt new models quickly, and continuously push what these technologies can do. ### Opportunity Deepgram is seeking a **Backend Software Engineer** to lead the design and implementation of Deepgram’s **Voice Agent** product. You’ll build **secure, robust, scalable** services for speech processing, create integrations for telephony providers and RAG systems, and engineer for **testability and observability** across complex AI model chains. ### What You’ll Do - Improve Deepgram’s core inference services across **networking, speech processing, model orchestration, and observability** - Develop integrations with in-house, third-party, and open-source AI models for **perception** and **conversational dynamics** - Debug complex systems involving **networking, scheduling, and highly concurrent workloads** - Rapidly customize backend services to support customer needs - Partner with Product to design and implement new services/features/products end-to-end ### You’ll Love This Role If - You thrive in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment where learning on-the-fly is expected - You enjoy balancing product/feature maturity—knowing when to make minimally invasive changes vs. when to invest in deeper design ### It’s Important To Us That You Have - **3+ years** of experience in an industry role - Programming experience in **Rust** (or **C/C++**), with competence in **Python** - Strong written and verbal **communication** and **organizational** skills - High level experience/understanding of **version control** (preferably **git**) - Comprehensive experience with **UNIX-style systems** ### It Would Be Great If You Had - Experience with **low-latency, multi-model orchestration** for AI-enabled applications - Experience with **audio processing** ### Security / Recruiting Notice Deepgram is aware of individuals impersonating recruiters.
