You’ll be expected to adopt new models quickly, integrate AI into your workflows, and continuously push what these technologies can do. ### Opportunity Join the **Engine team** to lead the design and implementation of Deepgram’s products. You’ll build **secure, robust, and scalable backend services** for speech processing, distributed compute orchestration, optimized scheduling, and more—while writing highly reusable code and helping shape delightful user experiences. ### What You’ll Do - Improve Deepgram’s core inference services across **networking**, **speech processing**, **audio transcoding**, and **latency/memory optimization** - Develop processes for **measuring, building, and optimizing** services to maximize system performance - Debug complex systems involving **networking**, **scheduling**, and **high-performance computing** interactions - Rapidly customize backend services to support customer needs - Partner with Product to design and implement new services, features, and/or products end-to-end ### You’ll Love This Role If You… - Thrive in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment where learning on-the-fly is expected - Enjoy balancing product/feature maturity decisions (minimally invasive changes vs. deeper design) ### It’s Important To Us That You Have - **3+ years** of industry experience - Programming experience in **Rust** (or **C/C++**), with competence in **Python** - Strong written and verbal communication + organizational skills - High level of experience with **version control** (preferably **git**) - Comprehensive experience with **UNIX-style systems** ### It Would Be Great If You Had - Experience with modern machine learning (e.g., **Torch**) and/or implementation knowledge of **CNNs, RNNs, transformers** - Experience with **audio processing** ### Security / Recruiting Notice Deepgram is aware of impersonators. **Legitimate recruiting communication comes from an `@deepgram.com` email address.** If you receive a message claiming to be Deepgram, please forward it to **careers@deepgram.com**.
