Deepgram serves 200,000+ developers and 1,300+ organizations, with voice-native foundation models available via cloud APIs or self-hosted/on-prem. ### About the Role As a **Billing & Analytics Engineer** on the **Console & Analytics** team, you will own the systems that convert Deepgram’s raw API usage into **accurate invoices**, **revenue-grade analytics**, and a **self-service billing experience** for customers. You’ll design and operate the full billing pipeline—from **usage event ingestion and metering** through **aggregation, rating, invoicing**, and integrations with third-party billing/CRM platforms. You’ll also build analytics surfaces that give customers visibility into consumption and provide internal teams the data needed to run the business. ### What You’ll Do - **Usage Metering & Event Processing:** Ingest, validate, and process usage messages; ensure sub-second reliability at scale with **idempotency** and **exactly-once semantics**. - **Usage Aggregation & Summarization:** Aggregate raw events into summaries by customer, product, time window, and pricing dimension; optimize for real-time dashboards and billing SLAs. - **Billing System Integration:** Integrate with usage-based billing platforms (e.g., **M3ter, Metronome**); implement rating, plan management, and invoice generation; handle edge cases (overages, credits, mid-cycle changes, enterprise commitments). - **CRM & RevOps Integration:** Build integrations with **Salesforce** and RevOps tooling to sync accounts, contract terms, entitlements, and billing status; support revenue recognition, forecasting, and audit needs. - **Console Billing Experience:** Develop customer-facing billing and usage views in the Deepgram Console (dashboards, spend, billing history, plan details); build self-service flows for upgrades, payment methods, and invoice retrieval. - **In-DC Access, Permissions & Token Management:** Own billing-adjacent authorization (API keys/tokens, usage-based access controls, entitlement enforcement, permission model). - **Analytics & Reporting:** Build internal analytics pipelines/dashboards (usage trends, cohorts, funnels, revenue metrics); add observability for anomalies, reconciliation failures, and SLA breaches. - **Data Integrity & Reconciliation:** Automate reconciliation across usage events, summaries, billing records, and payment processor data; implement alerting and self-healing to prevent customer/revenue impact. ### What We’re Looking For - **5+ years** building and operating billing, payments, metering, or financial data systems in a **SaaS** or **usage-based** environment. - Strong backend engineering skills, preferably **Rust**, plus at least one of: **Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Go**, or similar. - Deep experience with **relational databases** (e.g., **PostgreSQL/MySQL**) and data pipeline design (schema modeling, query optimization, high-volume event processing). - Hands-on experience integrating with billing/subscription platforms (e.g., **Stripe, M3ter, Metronome, Chargebee, Zuora**) and **Salesforce**. - Understanding of **usage-based pricing** and edge cases (proration, overages, commitments, credits, multi-currency). - Experience building **reconciliation** and **data integrity** systems fo
