The **Options Web team** builds the web experiences that let customers trade options on Robinhood. Work spans **Robinhood.com** and **Legend** (our web trading platform for active traders), including: - Trading flows - Options onboarding for new customers - Monitoring tools - Options details in the positions widget - The Option Chain tool You’ll work closely with **product managers, designers, and the mobile options team**, and you’ll see your work reach customers fast. **Location:** **Menlo Park, CA** (in-person hybrid; expected **at least 3 days/week**) --- ## What you’ll do - Act as **tech lead for options on web**, setting direction on platform topics like **performance** and **observability** - **Design, build, test, and roll out** features in **React** and **TypeScript** across trading flows, options onboarding, and monitoring tools - **Own projects end to end**, from options team initiatives to larger cross-team efforts - Break larger projects into smaller pieces and **guide other engineers** as they build - Diagnose complex **performance** and **data** issues (including options calculations), find root causes, and set up monitoring to catch problems early - Partner with **product managers and designers** (and content designers when needed) to shape and ship customer-facing features - Collaborate with the **mobile options team** to keep options experiences consistent across platforms --- ## What you bring - **7+ years** of professional software development experience - Strong web engineering fundamentals; hands-on experience building production web apps in **React** and **TypeScript** - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with a track record of finding root causes in performance and data problems - Experience owning projects end to end (design → development → testing → rollout) - Experience leading projects and setting technical direction (e.g., improving performance or observability) - Clear communication of technical tradeoffs with engineers, product managers, and designers - **Nice to have:** familiarity with options trading or other fintech/trading products (no options experience required—training provided) - **Nice to have:** prior tech lead experience (including at smaller companies) --- ## What we offer - Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career - Performance-driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, plus bonus programs, equity ownership, and **401(k) matching** - Top-tier benefits, including **100% paid health insurance** for employees (with **90% coverage** for dependents) - Access to the **Robinhood Employee Fund** (eligible US employees can invest in a private employee fund with exposure to Robinhood Ventures funds) - Access to best-in-market **AI tools** and continuous AI skill-building for every employee - **Lifestyle wallet** (flexible benefits spending for wellness, learning, and more) - Employer-paid life & disability insurance,
