## Full Stack Engineer ### About Fathom Fathom eliminates the needless overhead of meetings. We’re a small company building “magical experiences” through focused, values-driven work: - **Care Deeply** - **Seek Leverage** - **Share Ownership** - **Sustain Urgency** - **Be Tenacious** ### Role Overview We’re looking for **product-minded full-stack engineers** to build impactful, customer-facing features. Our **application team** owns nearly every part of the product beyond our core infrastructure and recording pipeline, including: - Web app - Electron desktop app - Chrome extension - AI pipelines - Search and chat experiences - Third-party integrations - Public API - MCP server You’ll help identify and deliver the product improvements that matter most to customers, working closely with application engineers and teams across **AI, platform, SRE, and customer support**. ### How You’ll Help Us Win - Contribute to a collection of highly-scalable services (some stateless, some stateful) - Services run in multiple regions, support spiky but predictable workloads, and ship via multi-stage rollouts to ensure correctness and efficiency ### Requirements **Hard Skills** - Familiarity with our tech stack (or equivalents): **Ruby/Rails/Sidekiq**, **TypeScript/TSX**, **MySQL**, **Redis**, **Pusher**, **Electron**, **GCP/GKE** - Experience in a **SaaS/PaaS** environment at scale (currently **100s of millions of async jobs per week**) **Soft Skills** - Curiosity-driven and pragmatic, focused on delivering results - Generalist mindset with ability to dive deep across a wide range of challenges - Resilience, attention to detail, and ability to grind through complex problems - Openness to disagreement and commitment to decisions once made - Strong collaboration skills; can explain complex insights to both technical and non-technical audiences - Independence in managing workload and priorities ### What’s in It for You - Shape foundational software services of a growing company - Balance innovation with incremental improvement - Dynamic, collaborative engineering team - Competitive compensation and benefits - Supportive environment encouraging innovation and personal growth ### Why You Should Join Us - **Opportunity for impact**: established enough to ship, early enough that your work matters - **Startup experience**: work closely with the CEO (2X Founder/CEO) - **Fully remote**: meetings sparingly; heavy use of async (Slack, Notion, Loom) ### Interview Process - **No live coding** - You’ll meet the **entire team** - **No bullshit**: ask anything; transparency is part of the process - **Quick turnaround**: typically **less than a week** from start to finish
