We’re backed by **$400M** in funding from top-tier global investors. **Your Role** Build the developer platform that agents and partners use to integrate and build on. You’ll evolve Alpaca’s **MCP servers, tools, and skills**, and build the **APIs** behind them. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead architecture, code/design reviews, mentorship, and ship the first version yourself—partnering with Product, Compliance, Risk, and Platform Engineering. **Things You Get To Do** - Design and build Alpaca’s agent-facing developer platform: **MCP servers, tools, skills, and the APIs** behind them. - Evolve the platform as the **MCP protocol** and connector/plugin/skill standards change. - Build new APIs to make trading and account capabilities available to apps and agents. - Decide which components the platform renders so developers can build faster using shared building blocks. - Keep Alpaca’s execution model current with MCP and translate changes into the developer platform architecture. - Own production reliability and quality for the services you build. - Mentor engineers and raise the quality of design and implementation. **Who You Are (Must-Haves)** - **5+ years** of software engineering experience with ownership of production systems used by other developers. - Shipped a **developer-facing API/SDK/platform** as a primary contributor. - Enough **MCP architecture** knowledge to work with stateless/stateful behavior; experience building to MCP or connector/plugin/skill standards in production. - Strong **API design** (schemas, compatibility, reliable responses). - Proficiency in **Python or TypeScript**, with willingness to work primarily in **Go**. - Strong architectural judgment; ability to ship while requirements are still forming. - Clear communication with engineering, product, compliance, and risk partners. **Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves)** - Experience shipping developer-facing tools, SDKs, or **MCP servers**. - Experience building agents with **LangChain** (or similar). - Experience/understanding of financial markets. - Production experience with **Go**. - Experience working at a **startup**. - Experience working **remotely**. **How We Take Care of You** - Competitive salary & stock options - Health benefits - New hire home-office setup: **one-time USD $500** - Monthly stipend: **USD $150/month** via a Brex Card - Equal opportunity workplace committed to hiring a diverse workforce *Recruitment Privacy Policy: https://files.alpaca.markets/disclosures/AlpacaRecruitmentPrivacyPolicy.pdf*
