## USRM Technology — Director, Engineering (Property & Specialty Delivery) USRM Technology is seeking a **passionate, transformational Director, Engineering** to lead the **Property & Specialty (P&S) Delivery** portfolio. This organization directly drives the design and build of product capabilities to deliver on aggressive **P&S Profit and Growth** targets. ### What you’ll do - **Lead** a high-performing engineering organization (~**150 FTE and contractors**), coaching and mentoring teams to deliver with clarity, accountability, and urgency. - **Strategize** technology direction and cross-functional partnerships to accelerate **speed-to-market** while maintaining high quality. - **Analyze, decide, and execute** using data-driven insights, engineering metrics, operational health, and risk indicators to drive portfolio decisions and measurable outcomes. - **Collaborate** across USRM Technology and key partners (Personal Lines Product, Service, Claims, Billing, Operations, Architecture, and peer portfolios) to deliver end-to-end solutions. - **Transform** delivery by helping shape USRM’s multiyear journey to simplify and modernize product offerings, policy capabilities, technology landscape, and ways of working. - **Drive AI fluency** in delivery—from spec-driven development to agentic coding—while responsibly protecting confidential and customer data. - **Influence and present** frequently with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders on portfolio vision, strategy, investment decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and outcomes. - **External support**: build and maintain industry/vendor relationships to strategically augment teams as needed. ### Qualifications - **Bachelor’s or Master’s** degree in a technical or business discipline (Master’s preferred) or equivalent related experience. - **10+ years** related experience, including **5+ years** in a leadership role. - Proven experience leading a **large-scale software engineering delivery engine** across distributed, multi-domain teams. - **Property & Casualty (P&C) or Specialty insurance** experience highly preferred. - Strong knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, and their application to business opportunities. - Advanced management, negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills. - Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills. ### About Liberty Mutual Liberty Mutual is committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and can thrive, with inclusion embedded in its culture. **Equal Opportunity Employer:** Liberty Mutual is an equal opportunity employer and does not tolerate discrimination on protected bases. *Pay philosophy and salary range details are determined by factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
