About this role
**Senior IT Systems Engineer** Everlaw is looking for a **Senior Information Systems Engineer** to report directly to the **IT Director** and help **co-architect key systems and processes**. You’ll work in an **AI Native, GitOps-forward** environment to build **highly scalable, resilient, and secure systems**. --- ### What you’ll do - Serve as the **most senior technical escalation point** for complex IT issues - Lead **large cross-functional IT initiatives** with support from Project Managers - Run **build vs. buy vs. self-host** analyses for new platforms; roll out new IT tools and workflows - Use deep technical breadth to **maintain, automate, and improve** IT infrastructure - Build strong relationships with Engineering teams to **bridge technical gaps** - **Mentor** the IT team using templates, reusable modules, and best practices --- ### About you - **10+ years** experience in IT / Systems Engineering / DevOps - Confident deploying and operating **self-hosted applications on AWS** with **Terraform** - **GitOps-first** mindset; able to develop **CI/CD pipelines** and write tests - Experience with **Okta SSO** and **Google Workspace** - Experience managing **Mac, Windows, and Linux (Ubuntu)** - Strong scripting and code-based workflow automation - Deep understanding of **AuthN/AuthZ** and **API/MCP security** - Excited to implement **AI Native tools** (experienced with **Claude Code** is a plus) - Strong network management skills (preferably **Cisco Meraki**) - Proactive: continuously assessing IT platform configurations and recommending improvements - Comfortable managing **mid-to-large** IT projects with cross-functional stakeholders - Highly organized and process-driven; able to anticipate and mitigate friction in a fast-paced environment - Team player who helps resolve problems when needed - Authorized to work in the **United States** (Everlaw is **not sponsoring** U.S. employment visas for this role) --- ### Pluses - Scripting languages: **Bash, Python, PowerShell**, etc. - Experience supporting cloud-based IT infrastructure for a **globally distributed** company - Experience supporting **audio/video systems** (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) - Familiarity supporting **Ubuntu Linux laptops** - Ability to work **after hours** when necessary --- ### Schedule & location - **Full-time, exempt** - Based in **Oakland office** with **hybrid schedule**: - In office **M/W/Th** - Work from home **Tu/Fr** --- ### Benefits (highlights) - Expected salary range: **$184,000 – $229,000** (final offer depends on experience/skills; base pay range may change) - **Equity program** - **401(k)** with company matching - Health, dental, vision - Flexible Spending Accounts - Paid parental leave; ~**10 days (80 hours)** sick leave per year - **17 paid vacation days** plus **11 federal holidays** - Learning & Development stipend - Company-sponsored life and disability insurance - Modern Health membership for mental health & wellness - Plus additional perks and volunteer time --- ### About Everlaw Everlaw’s mission is to **promote justice by illuminating truth**.
