Headway is a Series D company ($325M+ in funding) with **90,000+ providers** across all 50 states and **2.6M+ patients** served. --- ## Senior Fullstack Software Engineer — The Work As a Fullstack Engineer at Headway, you’ll have **end-to-end ownership**—building reliable abstraction layers over a fragmented healthcare system and translating them into seamless, empathetic user experiences. ### What you could work on - **Modern AI-enabled Clinical System**: Design and build interfaces/systems for clinical data, including high-integrity experiences for treatment plans and progress notes, integrating AI-powered clinical intelligence. - **Therapist Practice Management**: Build a best-in-class platform for therapists to run their businesses—owning features from **database schema to UI** (scheduling, clinical notes, payment management). - **Patient-First Experiences**: Help power patient-centric search and matching with frontend interfaces and backend APIs for personalized recommendations and longitudinal views. - **Frictionless Onboarding**: Turn insurance credentialing into a sleek, consumer-grade experience to get providers in-network faster. --- ## Tech Stack - **Languages**: TypeScript, Python 3 - **Frontend**: React, Remix, Next.js - **Backend & Storage**: FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Postgres, Redis, Snowflake - **Infrastructure**: AWS, Temporal, Kafka - **Ops**: Datadog, Sentry, PagerDuty - **AI Tools**: Cursor, Claude, Gemini, Eddy (in-house cloud agent harness) --- ## Who You Are - **End-to-End Product Builder**: Strong API architecture *and* user experience; comfortable context-switching between backend and frontend. - **AI Frontier Tinkerer**: You push AI tools into real workflows and ship responsibly in healthcare. - **Owns Outcomes, Not Tasks**: Turn ambiguous problems into shipped software; align teams and keep momentum through shifting priorities. - **Sets the Technical Standard**: Decisions optimized for maintainability and scale; improve team velocity and prevent bug categories. - **Mentor by Default**: Bring engineers into design discussions; code reviews teach; knowledge sharing is proactive. - **Ships Fast, Iterates Faster**: Prefer a strong v1 quickly, then iterate with real feedback. - **Quick Study in Complex Domains**: Healthcare is complex—payers, regulations, exceptions.
