**Airbnb — Senior iOS Engineer, Guest & Host** ## The Community You Will Join The App Experience & Frameworks team’s mission is to empower product teams at Airbnb to build high-quality experiences by providing feature foundations and unified app-wide product frameworks. You’ll play a critical role in end-to-end development of new product features across guest and host experiences—driving work from prototypes to production launch in collaboration with Design, Product, Marketing, Data Science, and partner Engineering teams. This team is part of the App Foundation organization, focused on common solutions for tech-wide priorities like Performance, Event Logging, and App Configuration (AirParam), and building app-wide features and frameworks including Host Task System, Navigation, and the Early Access Program. ## The Difference You Will Make - Build features and frameworks that enhance the app experience for millions of guests and hosts. - Work on horizontal product concerns such as app navigation, announcement scheduling, and frameworks that power host required actions. - Ship reliable, scalable, polished iOS experiences that deliver customer delight and enable feature teams to build and experiment faster. ## A Typical Day - Collaborate closely with Design and Product to ideate, prototype, develop, and ship product features and app-wide frameworks. - Develop prototypes while proactively considering long-term technical design and architecture implications. - Translate prototypes into high-quality, scalable, maintainable production code through iterative development. - Partner with peer engineering teams to integrate features across the product and continuously optimize owned frameworks based on developer feedback. - Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, accessibility, and globalization issues affecting the iOS app. ## Your Expertise - 5+ years building production iOS applications at scale. - Strong expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit, plus deep understanding of client architecture and UI performance. - Experience partnering with backend and other platform engineers (Android and web) to integrate APIs and keep cross-platform experiences consistent. - Bias toward action in ambiguous situations; able to independently lead projects from start to finish. - Strong cross-functional partnership skills; flexible and resilient when scope/design/priorities change. - High bar for polish, accessibility, and quality. - Preferably experience shipping delightful user experiences with fluid interactions, motion, and graphics. ## Your Location US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites (as agreed with your manager).
