**Software Engineer | Medicat, a Banyan Software company** **Location:** Remote (United States) **Employment type:** Full-time **Reports to:** Chief Product and Technology Officer --- ## Role Overview Banyan Software is hiring a **Back-End Software Engineer** to help build the services and APIs behind **MedicatOne**. This is a new role as Medicat expands its immunization solutions for allied health. You’ll start by building **integrations with third-party providers** (e.g., background check and drug testing companies), then grow into **production support** and **server-side development** across the platform. ## What you will do - **Build integrations:** Design and build integrations with external services, including background check and drug testing providers. - **Develop back-end services:** Design, build, and maintain back-end services and **RESTful APIs** in **C# and .NET**. - **Own your data layer:** Model data, write efficient SQL Server queries, and create safe, reviewable scripts for schema/data changes. - **Improve the platform:** Strengthen performance, reliability, and security (including caching and background processing). - **Support production:** Investigate and resolve production issues in code you own (handling protected health information). - **Test your work:** Write unit and integration tests; partner with QA for end-to-end coverage. - **Collaborate:** Participate in code review, write technical specs and PR descriptions, and work with product/front-end teams to turn requirements into designs and estimates. ## Qualifications for success - **3–5 years** of professional back-end software development. - Strong experience with **C# and .NET** (including **ASP.NET Core**) and building **RESTful APIs**. - Solid **SQL** skills (preferably **SQL Server**), including schema design, query writing, and performance tuning; experience with an ORM such as **Entity Framework**. - Hands-on experience with **AI-assisted/agentic coding tools**, with the judgment to review and verify outputs. - Habit of writing automated tests; comfort with **git** (branching, PRs, code review). - Computer science degree preferred. - Clear written and verbal communication. - Must reside in and be authorized to work in the **United States**. ### Nice to have - Experience in healthcare, higher education, or other regulated industries (e.g., **HIPAA**). - Experience at a small/mid-sized SaaS company. - Experience maintaining or modernizing an older codebase. - **Redis** (or similar) caching. - **CI/CD** pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions). - **SSO** (SAML/OIDC) or payment integrations. - Some familiarity with **React** or **TypeScript**. ## Technologies you will work with **C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, SQL, SQL Server, Entity Framework, Redis, Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD** ## Compensation Expected base salary: **USD $110,000 – $130,000**, plus additional annual bonus (based on factors including market conditions, location, and relevant skills/experience). --- **Apply note:** Banyan Software does not accept unsolicited resumes via email/LinkedIn.
