This role is **100% remote (United States)**. **No sponsorship or relocation assistance**. --- **Role Overview (Platform Focus)** As a **Forward Deployed Financial Engineer**, you deliver Datarails’ AI transformation engagements for existing customers. After implementation, you work closely with customer teams to understand how they operate, identify where AI can create meaningful value, and determine what Datarails can build together. You’ll own how solutions are **deployed and run inside customer environments**, including: - Integrations - Authentication - Secrets - Hosting - Monitoring - Release process You’ll also act as a bridge between customers and Datarails **R&D/Product** teams—translating customer needs into scalable platform capabilities. --- **What You’ll Do** - Own how customer solutions are deployed and run (integrations, auth, secrets, hosting, monitoring, releases) - Build internal tooling, templates, and reusable components to speed delivery and raise quality - Deliver customer-facing solutions (AI skills, routines, workflows, applications, agents) - Join discovery sessions to understand systems/data/constraints and turn them into deployable designs - Take ownership from recommendation → development → delivery → handoff - Work directly with customers to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions - Engage customer IT/finance teams in change management so solutions are adopted and stay running - Build prototypes/products for immediate needs while identifying opportunities for broader reuse - Partner with Customer Success, Product, and R&D to troubleshoot, communicate requirements, and influence product - Identify recurring customer needs that could become scalable platform capabilities - Explain technical concepts, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders - Document solutions, learnings, and repeatable approaches for future engagements --- **What We’re Looking For** **Two things first (regardless of focus):** - **You’re strong with customers**: run technical discovery, explain hosting/security tradeoffs, and lead when plans change - **You ship**: you own a problem from the first conversation through a working solution the customer actually uses **Then the technical areas (Platform focus order):** 1. **DevOps & Infrastructure**: take solutions from prototype to customer environments (APIs/integrations, cloud deployment, CI/CD, auth, secrets, observability) 2. **Product Engineering**: build software people use and tools that help other engineers ship faster 3. **Applied AI**: experience with LLM-based systems, agents, and tool use—plus understanding the infrastructure they need **Also required / expected:** - Production experience in **Python or TypeScript**, with **SQL** and **REST APIs**, plus at least one major cloud - Experience integrating with business systems via APIs, including proper handling of authentication and secrets - Ability to translate ambiguous constraints into clear, defensible recommendations - Product-oriented mindset and system-level thinking (solutions may evolve beyond one customer) - Comfort working independently, managing projects, and owning throu
