Product Engineer (Full-Stack)
Endeavorflow · Austin
About this role
**ABOUT ENDEAVOR** Endeavor is building the financial infrastructure that helps healthcare providers offer better payment options to their patients. Today, healthcare financing is fragmented across lenders, workflows, and systems. Endeavor brings that experience into one platform—helping practices match patients with financing options, manage the process from application through funding, and make more treatment accessible. We’re starting in dental, where our platform is already used by practices and large dental groups and integrates directly with multiple lenders and financial partners. We’re a small team, so engineers have an unusually large amount of ownership over both the product and the company. **THE ROLE** We’re looking for a product-minded full-stack engineer to join our engineering team in **Austin**. This isn’t a role where product hands you a fully written spec and you disappear to implement it. Engineers are involved from the beginning—understanding the problem, figuring out what we should build, shaping the user experience, making technical decisions, and shipping. You’ll work across our stack—**Next.js, React, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and AWS**—and own meaningful parts of the product end-to-end. **WHAT YOU’LL DO** - Own product problems end-to-end (help figure out what to build, not just how to build it) - Build and ship production features across frontend, backend, APIs, database, and infrastructure - Turn complex healthcare and financial workflows into simple, intuitive products - Design APIs, data models, integrations, and internal systems for real-time financing workflows - Work directly with users and internal teams to understand problems and iterate - Integrate with lenders, banks, payment providers, and other external platforms - Use AI development tools aggressively to prototype, build, debug, test, and ship faster - Make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, simplicity, reliability, and long-term architecture - Own what you ship in production and continuously improve platform quality - Take increasing ownership of technical and product decisions as the company grows **YOU’D PROBABLY LIKE THIS ROLE IF…** - You’d rather own an entire feature than one small layer of a system - You naturally ask “why are we building this?” before jumping into implementation - You care about how a product feels to use, not just whether the code works - You’re comfortable with ambiguity and don’t need every requirement defined - You like working directly with customers or non-engineers to understand problems - You’ve built side projects, startup products, open-source software, or things not assigned to you - You use AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar) daily and improve how you work - You enjoy moving quickly while still building reliable software - You want more ownership than you’d typically get on a larger team - You like working closely with a small group of ambitious people in person **WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR** We’re more interested in what you’ve built and how you think than checking every box. Ideally: - **3+ years** of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent evidence) - Strong full-stack web development experience - Experience with **React, Next.js**, or similar modern frontend frameworks - Experience building backend applications and APIs (Ruby on Rails is a plus, not required) - Strong relational database + **SQL** fundamentals - Track record of taking ownership and shipping meaning
