**Senior Backend Software Engineer — Ad Signals (Reddit)** Reddit is a community of communities, built on shared interests, passion, and trust—home to open and authentic conversations across the internet. We’re seeking a **senior backend software engineer** to help build the **app conversion signals** that power Reddit’s app advertising business. You’ll work on **MMP integrations, SKAN processing, and App CAPI** to make **app installs and in-app events** more reliable, useful, and easier for advertisers to integrate. --- ### Role Description Advertisers rely on conversion signals to understand campaign performance and guide investment. Missing events, duplicate delivery, inconsistent mappings, and difficult integrations can undermine that trust. Your work will improve the systems and diagnostics that make app signals usable for measurement and downstream ads systems. --- ### Responsibilities - Own backend projects across **MMP, SKAN, and App CAPI**—from requirements and design to implementation, rollout, and ongoing operation. - Build scalable ingestion and processing services with clear contracts, validation, deduplication, failure recovery, and data lineage. - Develop integration tooling and diagnostics to help advertisers and partners identify and resolve signal delivery problems. - Analyze signal quality and delivery metrics, investigate discrepancies, and prioritize improvements with product and data science partners. - Work with partner engineering and downstream consumers to evolve schemas and integrations without disrupting existing advertisers. - Incorporate privacy and security requirements into system design and maintain controls throughout the data lifecycle. - Raise engineering quality through testing, design reviews, incident learning, and mentorship. --- ### Required Qualifications - Demonstrated **senior-level backend** experience delivering and operating scalable production systems. - Hands-on experience with **app ads signals** or **mobile measurement**, with depth in **MMP integrations, SKAN, or app conversion APIs**. - Strong skills in **programming, API design, distributed systems, and SQL**, with independent problem solving and data investigation. - Clear communication and a track record of delivering results with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. --- ### Benefits - **100% remote** opportunity (hybrid/onsite preference options in **NY, SF, LA, and Chicago**) - Comprehensive healthcare benefits and income replacement programs - **401(k) with employer match** - Global benefit programs (workspace, professional development, caregiving support) - Family planning support - Gender-affirming care - Mental health & coaching benefits - Flexible vacation and paid volunteer time off - Generous paid parental leave --- ### Pay Transparency - **Base salary range:** **$190,800 – $267,100 (USD)** - In addition to base salary, the role may be eligible for **equity (RSUs)** and, depending on the position, **commission**. --- *Note: In select roles/locations, interviews may be recorded, transcribed, and summarized using AI.
