## Mobile Principal Software Engineer ### About Dscout Dscout is building the most flexible and powerful UX research platform on the market—trusted by top brands across finance, healthcare, consumer goods, and tech. Our tools help teams deeply understand the humans behind their products so they can build better ones. ### What you’ll do - Lead and mature our mobile team in an **AI-native** space - Stand up an **AI-native development process** for mobile (agents, evals, review loops) that sustains a fast pace beyond a rewrite - Drive a **thin-client** architecture for the participant experience, pushing business logic to the backend - Contribute **Python** to our AI backend service when mobile needs new capabilities (using AI agents to move efficiently) - Help set the **participant API** and broader participant platform direction beyond mobile - Spend ~**70%** of your time supporting the product team; **30%** on self-directed leadership and platform improvements - Drive continuous process improvement across mobile and partner teams - Mentor engineers and help evolve the Engineering org - Apply a **DevOps mindset** to improve Continuous Delivery and operational aspects of our SaaS & mobile platform - Participate in **security and compliance** efforts (SOC II & HITRUST certified) ### What you need to have - Significant mobile engineering experience with **Principal/Staff-level scope** (titles aren’t important—what you’ve shipped and led matters) - Experience with **iOS and Android**, plus willingness to work beyond mobile when needed - Hands-on experience with **AI coding agents** (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar)—not just autocomplete—and an opinion on SDLC design around them - Strong **system architecture** skills (backend API design, databases, mobile DevOps) and ability to reason about trade-offs - Proven track record leading, mentoring, and growing engineers - Experience with **cloud-based SaaS architectures** and evolutionary design - Comfort with **Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, observability/tracing**, and data/metrics-based decision making ### Working hours - Core availability: **9:30 AM – 5:00 PM CT** - Flexibility is available when life happens. ### Benefits (highlights) - Competitive compensation with bonus and equity - Progressive benefits: flexible PTO, 15 company holidays, 12 weeks paid parental leave, 401k match, and more - Education stipend + remote work stipend - Transparent, open communication ### Equal Opportunity Dscout is an equal-opportunity employer and values diversity and inclusion. ### Important note **DSCOUT NEVER CONTACTS JOB APPLICANTS VIA TEXT, Messenger, or other similar applications.** Watch for phishing/spoofing scams.
