About this role

**Systems Engineer - Missile Defense** **About Anduril** Anduril Industries is a defense technology company on a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by **Lattice OS**, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. **About the Team** The **Space Ground Systems Engineering** team solves the mathematical, physical, and algorithmic problems at the core of next-generation **missile defense** and **fire control** systems. You’ll work on dynamic battle-management challenges such as: - Fusing real-time sensor streams into track data - Optimizing weapon-target assignment under uncertainty - Feeding high-confidence fire-control schedules back to the warfighter **About the Job** Anduril is hiring a **Systems Engineer - Missile Defense** to join a rapidly growing team in **Huntsville, AL** or **Colorado Springs, CO**. In this role, you’ll bridge systems engineering, applied physics, and mathematical optimization to solve complex missile defense problems. You will design **track-fusion pipelines**, build **threat-assignment algorithms**, and conduct **sensitivity analyses** across complex architectures. Proficiency in **applied math, physics, and algorithm development** using **Python or C++** is required, along with an understanding of sensor data and battle management workflows. **What You’ll Do** - **Algorithm Design & Development**: Formulate and solve complex physics problems using mathematical techniques (e.g., object detection, tracking, discrimination; Weapon-Target Assignment (WTA); sensor allocation; fire control scheduling) - **Sensor Fusion & Tracking**: Work on system architecture components that ingest sensor data, execute track fusion, and perform threat classification - **Parametric & Sensitivity Analysis**: Run trade studies, sensitivity analyses, and parametric evaluations to determine system boundaries and validate performance - **Prototyping & Modeling**: Translate mathematical equations into clean, functional code (Python/C++) for modeling, simulation, and algorithm verification - **Mission Systems Architecture**: Connect low-level physics/threat intelligence inputs to high-level mission outputs **Required Qualifications** - Ability to **obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance** - **5+ years** of relevant engineering experience - Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in **Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering**, or a related quantitative field - Strong mastery of **applied mathematics, physics, and programming** - Proficiency in **Python and/or C++** for mathematical modeling and algorithm development (robust code required) - Exposure to missile defense concepts and/or related areas such as radar/sensor processing, flight dynamics, TOM, threat intelligence, discrimination and sensor tracking algorithms, kill assessment, integrated algorithms into operational systems, or fire control systems (e.g., **GMD, NGI, SM3, Aegis, IBCS, C2BMC, SBI**) **Preferred Qualifications** - **Top Secret / SCI eligible** **Benefits & Notes** - Competitive benefits package (details available via Anduril’s careers site) - Salary range is an estimate based on compensation factors; actual offer may vary - Highly competitive equity grants are included in most full-time offers **Protecting Yourself from Recruitment Scams** Anduril warns of
