## Cloud-Native Software Engineer – Kubernetes & Microservices ### Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company providing trusted solutions and enterprise IT services to government agencies and the U.S. armed forces. ### Responsibilities - Design, implement, and optimize highly available, cloud-native applications and infrastructure - Orchestrate complex, containerized microservices at scale using **Kubernetes** and modern cloud services - Build resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud-native architectures - Develop and maintain robust **RESTful APIs** and microservices using **Java (Spring Boot)** or **Python** - Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications with **Docker** (optimized image layering, security, and performance) - Implement **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources - Create interactive dashboards and visualization tools using **React** or **Solid** - Manage Kubernetes deployments, ingress controllers, service meshes, and stateful workloads - Design and implement distributed data pipelines for high-volume data ingestion, processing, and storage - Build and maintain automated **CI/CD** pipelines - Implement testing strategies (unit, integration, and cloud-readiness tests) - Monitor system health and performance; proactively identify and resolve production bottlenecks - Collaborate with data architects, DevOps teams, and product managers; produce clear technical documentation ### Highly Desired Skills - Experience with **Kubernetes Operators** and **Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs)** - Experience with distributed streaming platforms (e.g., **Kafka**) and graph databases (e.g., **Neo4j**) - Observability tools such as **Prometheus**, **Grafana**, or the **ELK stack** - Experience with big data processing frameworks (e.g., **Apache Spark**) *(plus)* - Experience deploying cloud applications and data-driven/event-driven analytics - Experience integrating analytics involving foreign language processing and multimedia technologies ### Required Qualifications - **Active TS/SCI with current Polygraph** required - **8+ years** of software development/engineering experience (including requirements analysis, development, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution) - **Bachelor’s degree** in Computer Science or related technical field *(or 4 additional years of experience can substitute for the degree)* - At least one required cloud developer certification: - **AWS Certified Developer – Associate** - **AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional** - **Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)** - **Elastic Certified Engineer** ### Required Technical Skills - Strong proficiency in **Java (Spring Boot)** or **Python** - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably **AWS** - Solid understanding of web application frameworks and **microservice architecture** - Proven experience building and managing data processing pipelines - RESTful API development using **Java (Spring Boot)** or **Python** - **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** (e.g., **Terraform** or **AWS CloudFormation**) - Deep understanding of **Kubernetes internals** (Pods, Services, Namespaces, Resource Management) ### Benefits & Salary - **Target Salary Range:** **$176,000 – $282,000** (varies by factors including experience, location, and business/contract considerations) - Benefits include subsidized employee coverage for you an
