## Senior Software Security Engineer ### Responsibilities - Implement, test, and operate software using advanced software security techniques in compliance with the technical reference architecture to enhance software systems. - Perform ongoing security testing and participate in code reviews to improve software security and features. - Debug, design, and code new software or modify existing software. - Provide and recommend engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities. - Contribute across all levels of the architecture and maintain technical documentation. - Collaborate with team members and share knowledge on secure coding practices. - Develop familiarity with new tools and best practices. ### Highly Desired Skills - Demonstrated work experience with OpenSource (NoSQL) products such as HBase/Accumulo, BigTable, etc. - 6+ years of demonstrated experience (within the most recent 8 years) developing production software for Solaris or Linux environments. - 6+ years of experience developing software using Java or C/C++. - Developing RESTful services. - Infrastructure as Code (IaC). - Continuous integration and deployment tools such as Ansible and Terraform. - Java development. - Kubernetes. - Previous experience developing analytics applications. ### Qualifications **Basic Requirements** - Active TS/SCI with current Polygraph required. - 20 years of experience in planning and leading Software Engineering efforts. - Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university required. - 4 years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. ### Benefits - Heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents. - 25 days of PTO accrued annually (up to a generous PTO cap). - Eligibility to participate in an attractive bonus plan. ### Target Salary Range - **$146,000 – $234,000** (typical range; final salary depends on factors including scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, competencies, and geographic/business/contract considerations). ### Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company delivering trusted, differentiated solutions and enterprise IT to protect the nation and allies—operating across land, sea, space, air, and cyberspace. *EEO: Equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veterans, or other characteristics protected by law.*
