They work full-time and show up fully every day. ### About the Role Happy Money’s Engineering team is seeking a **Senior Software Engineer (Frontend)** to design, build, deploy, and own consumer applications, infrastructure, and data-delivering products and services that support the lending business. You’ll work in an autonomous environment, take general direction, and formulate specific tasks to deliver results for Happy Money customers. You’ll contribute to complex functional specs and design docs as needed. ### Responsibilities - Develop and build products that provide an exceptional customer experience for members - Own design, testing, development, and delivery of new and existing features - Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle - Collaborate with product managers, designers, business owners, and engineers to identify best solutions - Drive engineering efficiency using **AI-driven coding agents and agentic workflows** to autonomously build, test, and ship complex **React** applications at scale - Implement **automated frontend testing** for critical components and user workflows - Work independently to design solutions to complex problems - Design and develop maintainable, scalable, fault-tolerant, efficient systems - Uphold code quality to ensure features meet standards - Prioritize team needs in technical debt and tooling to reduce operational load and evolve systems - Bring positive energy to meetings and ensure coworkers feel valued and included - Mentor other frontend engineers - Take initiative to address challenges and drive projects forward ### About You - **5+ years** building production **React** applications - Deep expertise in **React**, **hooks**, and **component architecture** at scale - Production experience with **ReactJS, CSS, GraphQL, JavaScript, NodeJS** - Polyglot with working knowledge of **Python** and **Java** (and ability to learn new technologies quickly) - Strong testing mindset using automation - Ability to scope, scale, and prioritize tasks to deliver milestones in clear and ambiguous environments - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Results-oriented; able to unblock yourself and others - Familiarity with **AWS** (EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, etc.) - Production experience building scalable/highly available consumer applications - BA/Master’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience ### Benefits & Perks - Generous medical, dental, and vision insurance options - Eligible for Annual Bonus - 401k plan with matching contribution - Generous PTO (including sick leave, vacation, volunteer, and more) - **12 weeks paid parental leave** - Company-paid short & long term disability and life insurance - Monthly tech stipend for remote work ### Compensation - **Base Salary Range:** **$140,000–$160,000 USD**
