About this role
**Radicle Health — Junior Software Engineer (React)** ## About the Role As a Software Engineer, you’ll build and ship well-defined features and bug fixes across the full stack, with a focus on **React** user interfaces backed by **.NET Core APIs** and **SQL Server**. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers who will guide your approach and design while you grow into deeper technical and product ownership. Because this is healthcare/human services software, you’ll follow **HIPAA and data-handling guidelines**, including using **mocked or anonymized data** (not real customer PHI) and following rules when using **AI-assisted tools**. ## What You’ll Do - Build and ship responsive, accessible **React** features and bug fixes across the full stack (React + .NET Core + SQL Server) - Follow best practices for **code quality**, **testing**, and development workflows (including source control and deployment) - Take ownership through launch and beyond—quickly address bugs, regressions, and open questions - Collaborate via thoughtful **pull request reviews**, technical discussions, and asking for help early when blocked - Protect sensitive data (PHI) by using mocked/anonymized data in development and testing, including with AI tools - Build product/customer/domain understanding and grow toward independently designing and delivering features ## What You Bring - **1–3 years** of software development experience (professional, internship, academic, or personal projects) - **BS degree** (or equivalent experience/certifications) - Working knowledge of **React** (hooks, component composition, state/props) - Solid **JavaScript** skills and experience with **HTML/CSS** for responsive, accessible UI - Some experience with **C#** and state management tools such as **Redux** or **React Query** - Foundational understanding of full-stack development and how application layers communicate - Foundational understanding of **data structures and algorithms** - Basic understanding of source control (e.g., **Git**) and deployment tools - Track record contributing to delivery of a feature/project and ability to clearly explain your role - Ownership and accountability for quality - Collaborative mindset with engineers, product managers, and QA; openness to feedback - Understanding of responsibilities when building healthcare software and protecting **PHI** ### Helpful, but not required - Experience with **Fluent UI** - Front-end testing (e.g., **Jest** / **React Testing Library**) - Relational database experience (e.g., **SQL Server**, Postgres) - Experience building/consuming **REST APIs** with **.NET Core** - Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., **Claude Code**, **Copilot**) ## What Success Looks Like - Early on: learn the products, codebase, tools, and process; reliably deliver well-defined features/bug fixes; participate in code reviews; follow code quality and data-handling practices - As you grow: need less direction on approach/design; independently work across React, .NET Core, and SQL Server layers; catch issues before others; bring clear questions to the team - Success is measured by understanding what you’re building and why, reliability after shipping, and how much teammates can count on you for communication, collaboration, and care with sensitive data ## Why This Role - Your work supports reliable software used by organizations serving people and communities - Hands-on experience across the full stack and software lifecycle (Rea
