## Elastic — Director of Product Management, Observability ### About the role Elastic, the Search AI Company, helps people find answers in real time using all their data at scale. The Elastic Search AI Platform (used by 50%+ of the Fortune 500) combines search precision with AI intelligence across search, security, and observability. As **Director of Product Management (Observability)**, you will own **Streams** end to end—Elastic’s shared ingest layer for **Observability, Security, and Search**. Streams collects data from any source, processes and routes it, and stores it in **Elasticsearch** or the customer’s own object storage, built on open standards like **OpenTelemetry** and **Prometheus**. Your mission: make Elastic the **easiest platform to bring data to**, for every solution and every customer. ### What you’ll be doing - Own the strategy and roadmap for **data collection, ingestion, processing, routing**, and the **integrations framework** - Define and track **KPIs** focused on product and feature adoption - Partner with **Observability, Security, and Search** product leaders to deliver shared services - Make **data ingestion self-service**, with **time-to-first-data** measured in minutes - Lead a team of **distributed product managers** and drive measurable outcomes - Drive roadmap priorities with **customers, internal teams, and the community** - Work with **engineers and designers** to scope and define compelling features - Enable **sales, marketing, and partners** with clear messaging and positioning ### What you bring - **10+ years** in product management, including **4+ years** leading PM teams in **data infrastructure, observability, or data pipelines** - Deep technical fluency in telemetry ingest: **OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, log processing, routing, and agent management** - Experience shipping **SaaS products** with **usage-based pricing** and building platform capabilities shared across product lines - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Familiarity with the **Elastic Stack** (plus) ### Compensation & benefits (high level) - **Base salary only** (no variable compensation) - Typical starting salary range: **$199,700 — $315,900 USD** - Select locations (Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, NYC Metro): **$239,800 — $379,300 USD** - Eligible to participate in Elastic’s **stock program** - **401(k)** with company match up to **6%** - Additional benefits include health coverage, flexible work options, vacation, charitable matching, volunteer time, and parental leave ### Additional information Elastic is an **equal opportunity employer** committed to an inclusive culture.
