## Senior Software Engineer — Warehouse UX (Backend) At Snowflake, we’re powering the era of the **agentic enterprise**. We’re looking for **AI-native thinkers** who are energized by reinventing how work gets done—using AI as a high-trust collaborator, moving with an experimental mindset, and delivering durable impact. ### Team & Role Overview You’ll join the **Warehouse UX pod**. Despite the name, this is **not a front-end role**. The team builds **backend distributed systems** that power: - Warehouse behavior and customer-facing warehouse capabilities - **Metering and billing-related functionality** - Reliability and usability of core warehouse workflows Warehouses are mission-critical and a major revenue driver—this is an opportunity to work on **high-impact systems at significant scale**. ### What You’ll Do - Design, build, test, deploy, and operate **backend software and distributed systems** for Snowflake Warehouses - Own **medium-sized projects end to end** (design → delivery), and contribute to larger cross-team initiatives - Build and evolve capabilities across **warehouse features, billing, and usability** - Improve **reliability, scalability, performance, and operational health** in production - Participate across the full lifecycle: technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, **on-call**, triage, and production improvements - Partner with engineers, product managers, and adjacent teams to deliver solutions to customer and business problems - Make thoughtful tradeoffs across speed, quality, maintainability, and long-term architecture - Use strong debugging and systems thinking to resolve complex production issues and improve service behavior over time - Raise the bar through design/code reviews, operational rigor, and clear technical communication - Apply **AI-assisted workflows** to increase leverage, speed, or quality without compromising judgment ### What You Bring (Ideal Qualifications) - **4–7 years** of professional software engineering experience - BS in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent practical experience - Strong programming, debugging, and software design skills in one or more modern languages - Experience building and operating **backend/distributed systems** in production - Ability to independently execute **medium-sized projects** to completion - Ability to contribute as a strong technical partner on larger cross-team projects - Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and engineering best practices - Experience with **on-call / production support / incident response** - Strong communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego working style - Customer-oriented mindset with good judgment about reliability, usability, and business impact ### Preferred Qualifications - Master’s or PhD in Computer Science (or related) - Experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, or large-scale backend services - Experience with billing, metering, control plane systems, or customer-facing platform capabilities - Familiarity with performance-sensitive or highly reliable production environments - Comfort navigating ambiguity and breaking down complex problems into practical solutions ### Ready to Make an Impact?
