**Lead Software Engineer, Application Software (Procurement)** **About the Role** Join SpaceX's Application Software team—the central nervous system of the company. You'll lead a team of skilled engineers while owning mission-critical systems that accelerate launch vehicle production, enable Starship manufacturing, and support Starlink's global expansion. **Key Responsibilities** • Directly manage a team of software engineers • Own system roadmap prioritization, implementation, and delivery • Provide strong technical leadership focused on continuous improvement • Develop highly reliable and available software systems • Collaborate across departments to ensure SpaceX's success **Basic Qualifications** • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Science + 3+ years software development experience (OR 6+ years professional experience) • 1+ years object-oriented programming experience • 1+ years leading software teams or projects **Preferred Skills** • Python, C#, .NET, Go, Java, or similar OOP languages • Angular, React, or JavaScript frameworks • PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar databases • 4+ years building single-page web applications • Expertise in system design, testing, infrastructure, and performance optimization • Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Management domain knowledge • Strong mentoring and cross-team collaboration abilities **Additional Requirements** • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed • ITAR compliance: U.S. citizen, green card holder, refugee, or asylee status required **Compensation** $165,000 - $265,000 base salary, plus stock options, bonuses, comprehensive benefits, 401(k), and 3+ weeks paid vacation.
