Elastic Cloud (used by 50%+ of the Fortune 500) combines search precision with AI intelligence across search, security, and observability. **Role overview** Billing powers Elastic’s Cloud business across AWS, GCP, and Azure in 50+ regions. You’ll join the **Billing Experience** team, which owns the customer-facing layer of billing systems—building and maintaining public/internal APIs and the billing & account pages in Elastic Cloud consoles. **What you’ll be doing** - Own and improve public and internal billing APIs (reliability, correctness, developer experience) - Design and build full-stack features in Elastic Cloud consoles (backend services + billing/account UIs) - Lead small to medium projects end-to-end (design → delivery) - Contribute to API design decisions (versioning, contracts, consistency) - Improve observability and reliability of billing-facing services (monitoring, alerting, incident response) - Participate in code/design reviews; be a trusted reviewer - Mentor junior engineers through feedback, pairing, and design discussions - Work with Product and Tech Leads to shape priorities and technical direction - Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to production readiness **What you bring** - 5+ years in backend or full-stack engineering, with strong API experience - Experience building customer-facing or developer-facing products at scale - Solid understanding of distributed systems and building for reliability and scale
