**Staff Software Engineer, iOS Platform** Reddit is a community of communities—built on shared interests, passion, and trust. The **iOS Platform** team sets the technical direction for iOS at Reddit. We help improve developer efficiency by providing libraries/APIs/frameworks, monitoring performance, building shared components, and improving build tools. In the codebase, we own core app components such as the networking layer, persistence, and dependency injection—setting the direction by defining the design patterns and technologies used across Reddit. This role will help architect Reddit’s iOS app to scale for the next **100M+ DAUs**, establish iOS development standards, improve the overall iOS development experience, and mentor senior iOS engineers. You’ll be a go-to person for iOS app architecture challenges. --- ### What you’ll do - Own the architecture of Reddit’s iOS Mobile App and make it scale to the next **100M+ DAUs**. Propose ideas/solutions to achieve “making Reddit’s Mobile Apps best-in-class.” - Identify gaps in current iOS app architecture and lead redesign to improve **modularity, performance, and quality**. - Build agentic workflows to accelerate migrations across a multi-million line code repository. - Mentor iOS developers across the company. - Serve as the go-to person for complex iOS development problems. ### What we expect from you - Deep, experience-based understanding of building mobile applications at scale. - Strategic thinker focused on long-term technical foundations and scalable, well-designed software. - **10+ years** software development experience, including **5+ years** designing/developing iOS applications. - Experience influencing large organizations (**100+ engineers**) on iOS technical direction and best practices. - Experience with modern iOS frameworks such as **SwiftUI** and **structured concurrency**. - Experience working cross-functionally with design, product, and data teams. - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent technical expertise. ### Benefits - Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits and Income Replacement Programs - 401(k) with Employer Match - Global benefit programs (workspace, professional development, caregiving support) - Family Planning Support - Gender-Affirming Care - Mental Health & Coaching Benefits - Flexible Vacation & Paid Volunteer Time Off - Generous Paid Parental Leave **#LI-Remote** --- ### Pay Transparency (US) - **Base salary range:** **$217,000 – $303,900 USD** - In addition to base salary, the role may be eligible for equity (RSUs) and, depending on the position, commission. --- ### Interview Recording Notice In select roles and locations, interviews may be recorded, transcribed, and summarized by AI.
