Physical AI is a major technology shift, and Verkada is at the center of it. **About the Role** Join our Developer AI team to build the infrastructure, tools, and agentic workflows that Verkada engineers use every day. Example projects include: - Running coding agents asynchronously at scale - Building evaluation frameworks for agent quality - Connecting AI tooling into our monorepo and developer workflows This role has cross-company impact—every engineer at Verkada will use what you build. This position requires being onsite at our HQ in **San Mateo, CA**. **What You’ll Do** - Make every engineer at Verkada faster with AI - Build AI infrastructure that increases productivity across the company - Design systems that run AI agents asynchronously, balancing security, cost, and usability - Help define the Developer AI roadmap and lead planning - Create evaluation frameworks to measure agent performance - Partner closely with security, product, and other infrastructure teams to launch and support services - Document and teach AI best practices across the company - Help grow the team **What You Bring** - 5+ years of software engineering experience - Proven experience shipping production systems, including agentic or automation-heavy workflows - Strong hands-on coding ability in **Go** and **Python** - Experience building systems that interact with APIs, tools, and external services (not just prompt-based interfaces) - Demonstrated ability to define metrics and rigorously evaluate system performance - Experience writing clear technical design documents and driving alignment **Nice to Have** - Familiarity with agent frameworks or orchestration systems - Experience in monorepo environments - Experience working on developer productivity tools - Startup or early-stage team experience **US Employee Benefits (Highlights)** - Comprehensive healthcare options (premiums covered for employees under at least one plan; family premiums covered under all plans) - Nationwide medical, vision, and dental coverage - 401(k) matching starting January 2027 (with vesting at the 2-year anniversary) - HSA and FSA options - Expanded mental health support - Paid parental leave and fertility benefits - Paid holidays, extended firmwide holidays, flexible PTO, and personal sick time - Professional development stipend - Wellness/fitness benefits - Healthy lunches provided daily - Commuter benefits **Additional Information** - We sponsor and take over sponsorship of employment visas for this role.
