About this role

**Manufacturing Test Engineering, Software — Anduril Industries** ## About the Team Anduril is a defense technology company on a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by **Lattice OS**, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. ## Role Summary As a **Software Manufacturing Test Engineer**, you’ll build, scale, and maintain the software that drives manufacturing test systems. You’ll develop production software that tests complex hardware, integrates with lab instrumentation and DAQs, and manages the data produced by test stations. You’ll bridge low-level hardware control with high-level test automation by writing robust, reliable production code in **Python** and **C#** for **Linux/Unix** (and ideally **NixOS**) runtime environments. ## What You’ll Do - Maintain ownership of software manufacturing test activities in production, ensuring **test station uptime**, **operator usability**, and **factory throughput** - Develop and maintain **PLC-integrated station control software** (e.g., Modbus TCP), including tooling to import/validate controller tag exports against expected schemas - Build **hardware-free simulation environments** (containerized station images, virtual CAN replay, device simulators) for development and regression testing - Design, build, and maintain production test suites primarily in **Python** (hardware control, sequencing, instrument automation) and **C#** (test executives, operator interfaces, background services) - Integrate test applications with **sensors, DAQs, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, and vehicle compute hardware** - Implement low-level hardware communication using **UART, CAN, and RS-485 / RS-232** to command, flash, and validate DUTs - Deploy, configure, and debug manufacturing test systems on **Linux/Unix** using terminal tools, **SSH**, and network debugging utilities - Use **Nix/NixOS** to manage reproducible manufacturing test environments and eliminate dependency drift - Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers during NPI to define test requirements, coverage, APIs, and pass/fail limits - Automate test execution across assembly levels (e.g., **PCBA functional test (FCT)** through full-system and **Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)** checkouts) - Provide hands-on troubleshooting and **root-cause analysis (RCCA)** for complex hardware-software integration issues - Log parametric test data and integrate with **SQL/database backends** and **MES** for full hardware traceability - Build clear operator interfaces, error-handling, and troubleshooting logs for technicians - Drive continuous improvement to optimize sequences, shorten cycle times, and increase coverage without sacrificing quality ## Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field - **3+ years** relevant experience as a Software Manufacturing Test Engineer (or equivalent), focused on software development for hardware test automation/manufacturing environments - Strong production coding in **Python** for test automation, device control, and data handling - Working knowledge of **C# (.NET)** for manufacturing test applications, operator UIs, or system services - Strong **Linux/Unix** knowledge (terminal, shell scripting, SSH, network configuration/debugging) - Hands-on experience
