Built on open source and open standards, Grafana Cloud helps teams unify visibility across their data—wherever it lives. > **Remote opportunity for candidates located in Canada and US.** --- ## The Opportunity The **Grafana Search & Storage** squad is building Grafana’s next-generation **storage layer**. As part of the App Platform, **Unified Storage** enables developers to interact with data using a Kubernetes-inspired **Operator pattern**. The team also owns two key discovery/organization features: - **Search**: the unified engine for finding and querying Grafana data - **Folders**: hierarchical content management --- ## What You’ll Be Doing - Influence the roadmap and your own career objectives - Deliver new features with your team, then iterate based on results - Drive projects from ideation through operations once customers adopt them - Contribute to open-source work beyond your immediate scope - Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems—owning **reliability, performance, and availability** - Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of the services you run - Mentor teammates and collaborate in design discussions - Learn the cloud product and customer needs, and deepen your understanding of a large distributed codebase - Work effectively in a remote-first environment with strong communication --- ## What Makes You a Great Fit - Motivated self-starter with a bias toward action - Customer-focused mindset - Passion for building intuitive products that meet customer needs - Pragmatism: break down complex problems, ship MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate - Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fully remote setup - Solid experience with **Go, Rust, Python**, or similar languages - Demonstrated knowledge working with **large distributed systems** - Experience delivering projects end-to-end (requirements → shipping) - Experience building cloud software or systems engineering - Ability to write clean, robust, performant code maintainable by others --- ## Bonus Points For - Experience using **Grafana** and **Prometheus** in operational roles (including on-call) or via homelab projects - Familiarity with on-call/SRE operations or **infrastructure as code** --- ## Compensation & Benefits (US) - OTE/Base compensation range: **USD $154,445 – $185,334** - Actual compensation varies by level, experience, and skills assessed during the interview process - Includes **Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)** *Compensation ranges are country specific.
