Learn more: https://clearstreet.io/ **The Role (Senior Software Engineer)** As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll help build **Clear Street Studio**, a modern brokerage experience. You’ll tackle non-trivial problems, balancing tradeoffs while implementing clean, efficient solutions. You’ll join a collaborative engineering team building core services for a world-class financial platform designed to handle all aspects of client needs while maintaining a high SLA. You’ll develop services across the stack, including **user authentication and authorization** and **client data delivery**. You’ll solve complex problems that challenge your system design skills, simplify complexity through feature/service design, and—at a senior level—mentor teammates, evolve technical standards and best practices, and promote a system design culture. **The Team** The team is made up of highly talented, motivated engineers passionate about pushing the boundaries of financial technology. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and make a meaningful impact on the financial industry. **Requirements** - 7+ years of professional experience implementing highly scalable services in **Java**, with deep understanding of the **Spring Framework** ecosystem - Experience building systems that solve complex business problems at massive data scale; strong interest in **scale**, **distributed systems**, and related technologies - Ability to clearly explain system design nuances and paradigms to engineers and stakeholders - Strong focus on **end-user experience**, reflected in API design, functionality, and performance - Strong command of **design patterns**, **data structures**, and **algorithms** - Clear communication and a collaborative mindset to deliver high-quality products - Experience mentoring team members, defining engineering standards, and driving a system design approach - **Preferred (not required):** Platform team stack experience (OAuth2/auth providers, fine-grained authorization like Auth0 FGA/Authzed, **gRPC**, **PostgreSQL**, **Redis**, **Docker**, **Gradle**, **Kubernetes**).
