## Join us in building the future of finance Our mission is to democratize finance for all—helping power the next era of trading and research. ## About the team + role The **Trading Tools** team builds and evolves the core trading platform for active investors, powering research, charting, portfolio management, and execution—while integrating AI to deliver precise, personalized, trusted trading experiences at massive scale. As a **Staff iOS Engineer** on Trading Tools, you’ll be the technical lead for mobile. The team owns high-traffic surfaces including the **stock detail page, advanced charts, trading ladder, portfolio, and watchlists**. You’ll design and build high-performance trading and research interfaces handling **real-time market data**, rich charting, and complex portfolio views. You’ll partner with product, design, data science, and backend engineers to ship improvements in **speed, reliability, and usability**—and drive architectural decisions that scale across iOS and Android. **Location:** New York, NY (in-person expected at least **3 days/week**). ## What you’ll do - Set the technical vision for mobile across **iOS and Android**, own quality of execution, and remain hands-on in iOS. - Own the architecture of a scalable iOS app supporting core surfaces (stock detail, advanced charts, trading ladder, watchlists, portfolio). - Build a modular, extensible mobile architecture with self-contained components for independent cross-functional delivery. - Drive cross-platform consistency (architecture, data contracts, feature parity, release sequencing). - Improve performance and reliability for real-time trading workflows (rendering, launch time, page-load time), including observability. - Evolve charting and research experiences for active traders. - Lead integration of **AI-driven capabilities** into core trading, research, and portfolio workflows on mobile. - Lead technical planning, system design reviews, implementation discussions, and incident resolution for high-stakes trading features. - Partner with product, design, backend, and data teams to run experiments and guide release decisions. - Mentor iOS and Android engineers through code reviews and structured feedback; help engineers grow toward staff-level scope. - Influence mobile platform direction beyond the team through collaboration across the company. ## What you bring - **8+ years** of professional iOS experience building and maintaining large-scale apps with **Swift** and modern iOS frameworks (**UIKit, SwiftUI**). - Proven experience owning the technical direction of a product area or platform. - Experience designing scalable mobile systems with clear architecture patterns and maintainable testing strategies for data-intensive/real-time use cases. - Track record leading technical initiatives across multiple teams/platforms. - Strong working knowledge of Android principles to collaborate effectively. - Ability to collaborate across product, design, backend, and infrastructure to deliver customer-focused solutions. - Excellent communication skills, including translating complex trading concepts into intuitive mobile experiences. - Experience mentoring engineers and fostering engineering excellence. - **Nice to have:** financial platforms/trading systems/real-time market data; server-driven UI; embedded web/React Native; live streaming; LLM-powered product features. ## What we offer - Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career. - Performance-driven compe
