## Hims & Hers — Sr. Staff Engineer (Fullstack/Frontend) ### About the Role We’re seeking a visionary and technically exceptional **Sr. Staff Engineer** to lead architectural innovation and strategic technical direction at the organizational level—shaping the long-term technical landscape, enabling cross-functional execution at scale, and aligning engineering efforts with product and business outcomes. ### Key Responsibilities **Architectural Vision & Strategy** - Define and evolve the architectural vision for **customer-facing frontend** systems aligned with business strategy. - Lead cross-org initiatives addressing long-term scale, system boundaries, and foundational UI capabilities (e.g., **design systems** and **rendering architecture**). **Frontend Excellence & Performance** - Drive front-end excellence across engineering to deliver **fast, accessible, visually polished** experiences. - Champion **UI performance, accessibility, and responsiveness**. **Technical Leadership & Governance** - Establish patterns and frameworks for **quality, resilience, and operational excellence**. - Serve as an authority on frontend design decisions and foster alignment across teams. - Raise the bar for **code quality** and engineering standards: robust, testable, observable, maintainable, secure, and scalable. **Org-Wide Enablement & Collaboration** - Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to shape product direction and ensure architecture supports strategic goals. - Create and promote shared architectural patterns, tools, and infrastructure to improve efficiency and velocity. - Drive org-wide adoption of scalable frontend practices, tools, and development norms. **Mentorship & Talent Growth** - Mentor senior technical leaders and engineers to elevate capabilities across the organization. - Foster talent density, engineering rigor, and a culture of continuous learning. - Participate in product discovery to assess feasibility, explore user needs, define features, and validate ideas via prototypes/experiments. **Ambiguity Navigation & Execution Acceleration** - Lead through complexity and ambiguity—clarify direction when ownership is unclear. - Remove blockers, simplify decision-making, and accelerate delivery of strategic initiatives. - Lead cross-team initiatives from inception through execution, coordinating stakeholders, managing risk, and ensuring delivery against success metrics. **Customer-Centric Engineering** - Translate customer needs and product goals into scalable technical solutions. - Use performance metrics and user feedback to inform technical direction and product enhancements. - Embed customer obsession into platform architecture through principles and patterns. **Sustainability & Scalability** - Design systems and team boundaries to support sustainable growth. - Invest early in non-functional priorities (e.g., **observability, migrations, reliability**). - Identify systemic risks and lead resilient, observable, scalable solutions. ### What You Bring - **12+ years** of professional software engineering experience with strong group-level technical leadership. - Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks/libraries (**React, Next.js, GraphQL**) delivering high-performance web experiences at scale. - Full-stack capability with backend proficiency in **Node.js** and **Python**. - Deep expertise in **UI performance, web accessibility, and responsive design**. - Experience introducing and scaling shared frontend infrast
