**Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Experience** **About Airbnb** Airbnb was born in 2007 and has grown to millions of hosts welcoming billions of guest arrivals across nearly every country. **The Community You Will Join** You’ll join the Cloud Infrastructure organization, specifically the Cloud Experience team. The team builds and maintains the foundational cloud platform experience that powers operations across Airbnb—focusing on intuitive interfaces and streamlined self-serve workflows so engineers can build and manage services without worrying about underlying infrastructure. **The Difference You Will Make** As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll help build an AI-native infrastructure platform used across Airbnb. You’ll focus on: - Interfaces and agent-driven capabilities for provisioning and managing services across their lifecycle - Developer APIs and CLIs - Kubernetes infrastructure and cloud automation - Smart scheduling and autoscaling - Multi-region capabilities and integrations with identity/security systems and the service mesh **A Typical Day** - Deliver secure, efficient, highly available frameworks and platform capabilities that reduce infrastructure complexity - Develop APIs and tools to simplify service management and provisioning while securely scaling platform enhancements - Use and extend open source projects (e.g., Kubernetes, Argo CD) and contribute upstream when beneficial - Create agent-driven workflows with clear change previews and validation - Partner with service owners and teams to identify confusing workflows and improve them - Debug production issues and improve reliability and visibility of owned systems **Your Expertise** - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience - Experience building developer platforms or infrastructure interfaces (APIs, CLIs, declarative configuration) at scale - Deep knowledge in areas such as Kubernetes, cluster lifecycle, infrastructure automation, and public cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure) and IaaS offerings - Strong communication and collaboration skills - Solid production debugging and problem-solving skills **Ways to Stand Out** - Experience building AI agents that use tools/APIs and evaluating their behavior - Contributions to open source infrastructure projects - Experience building Kubernetes controllers **Location / Work Model** - US Remote Eligible - Occasional work at an Airbnb office or offsites may be required as agreed with your manager - You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (excluded states apply) **Pay Range** - **$196,000 – $230,000 USD** (base pay; subject to factors and change) - May also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits **Inclusion & Belonging** Airbnb encourages applications from a broad talent pool and is committed to an inclusive hiring process. **Reasonable Accommodations** If you need assistance or an accommodation during the recruitment process, contact **reasonableaccommodations@airbnb.com**. **Note on Recruiting Scams** Airbnb roles are posted on **careers.airbnb.com** and recruiters correspond only from **@airbnb.com** or **@ext.airbnb.com**.
