**Senior Software Engineer – Bionic Enterprise Platform** **Who we are** Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress. This work requires deep integration across hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate. We deploy into real environments, operate them, learn from them, and improve them until they work at scale. **What you’ll do (Bionic Enterprise Platform team)** You’ll build shared software and infrastructure that help our Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) deliver solutions across Atoms. You’ll work closely with FDEs to turn successful deployments into reusable capabilities—making each new solution faster to build, easier to operate, and more reliable. - Partner with FDEs to understand what they’re building, identify recurring needs, and decide which parts become shared platform capabilities. - Turn proven solutions into reusable services, integrations, and components with minimal setup. - Build foundations for AI-powered applications and workflows, including access to models, business systems, and data—plus shared authentication, permissions, and observability. - Create tools, APIs, SDKs, and deployment templates so FDEs can build, test, and ship independently while meeting security and reliability requirements. - Help deployments grow beyond initial use cases by strengthening architecture, testing, monitoring, and failure recovery. - Own the platform in production: reliability, performance, cost, and upgrades—plus clear ownership/support paths as solutions move into ongoing operation. - Measure success via developer adoption, shorter delivery times, reduced duplication, and reliable operation—using FDE feedback to keep the platform focused on real needs. **What we’re looking for** - Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, with experience building infrastructure, platforms, or shared backend services. - Strong software engineering fundamentals: clear API design, distributed systems reasoning, and practical tradeoffs between speed, reliability, and complexity. - Experience turning a specific implementation into a reusable capability (knowing when to abstract—and when it’s too early). - Developer-focused mindset: documentation, debugging, onboarding, and making the easiest path to build reliable systems. - Experience integrating systems via APIs, authentication, and data pipelines, including access controls and safe handling of business data. - Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, and production observability (GCP or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes are a plus). - Experience building AI-powered applications or supporting infrastructure (e.g., model gateways, tool integrations, workflow execution, evaluations). - Effective use of AI coding tools, with the ability to understand, test, debug, and maintain what you build. - Strong ownership and collaboration—able to move quickly with FDEs and turn learnings into improvements for the broader team. **Why join us** Work on one of the defining challenges of our time: bringing automation into the physical world to drive real, lasting impact.
