**Greenhouse — Vice President, Security** ## About the role Greenhouse is seeking a **Vice President, Security** to lead company-wide security strategy and execution across **product security, corporate security, and information security**. Reporting to the **Chief Technology Officer**, you’ll lead the Security team and help build trust by protecting candidate and employee data. As a member of the **Senior Leadership Team** and **R&D Leadership Team**, you’ll advise executive leadership and the Board on security posture, risk, and investments—while partnering closely with Product, Legal, Engineering, Privacy, Sales, and Customer Success. ## Who will love this job - **Strategic, hands-on leadership** that sets direction and engages deeply with technical details when it matters - **Urgency and scale mindset**—growing the security program at the pace of the business without trading away customer trust - **Leader of leaders**—building and developing a strong bench and team culture of ownership, curiosity, inclusion, and continuous learning - **Calm incident leadership**—clarity under pressure and decisive communication with leadership, customers, and regulators - **Decisive risk ownership**—separating real risk from noise and making timely trade-offs across budget, risk, and velocity - **Trust builder**—security as a competitive advantage with credibility across ELT, Board, customers, and auditors - **Agile communicator**—translating complex security and technology risks into clear recommendations ## What you’ll do - Define and own Greenhouse’s **security strategy**, multi-year roadmap, operating model, budget, and investment priorities - Lead a multidisciplinary security organization across **product security, corporate security, and information security**; build it to be **AI-native** using automation and agentic workflows - Build and develop a leadership bench (hiring, coaching, succession planning, career development) - Own Greenhouse’s **security risk posture** (enterprise, third-party, vendor risk) and risk acceptance decisions; oversee assurance programs including **SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and ISO 42001** - Lead security response for serious incidents (detection → triage → executive/customer/regulatory communications → post-incident) - Own annual disaster recovery exercises and regulatory notification timelines - Establish governance for **AI usage** across people and product (acceptable-use policies, data handling, access boundaries, human oversight, auditability) - Lead data security and governance (data classification, access controls, DLP, data residency) with Privacy and Legal - Partner with Product, Engineering, IT, Legal, Privacy, and Finance on secure-by-default design, identity, and customer commitments - Advise Sales and Customer Success on strategic security reviews and enterprise deals; join trust conversations as needed - Represent Greenhouse security with the Board, customers, prospects, partners, auditors, and industry audiences - Lead security due diligence and integration for **mergers and acquisitions** ## You should have - **12+ years** security experience, including **5+ years** leading a multidisciplinary security organization - Experience as **Head of Security, CISO, Vice President of Security**, or comparable senior security leader - End-to-end security program ownership and scaling through significant growth in **B2B SaaS or consumer technology** (strategy, budget, headcount planning) - Experi
