About this role
**Cybersecurity Engineer II — Relativity Space** **About the Team** The IT team supports the full scope of computing infrastructure and security—end-user systems, servers, virtualization, cloud, networking, software services, telecommunications, and information security. You’ll enable teams across the company (from the production floor to flight operations) to design, build, and launch rockets. **About the Role** Protect the people and technical data behind our rockets by building scalable security improvements. Key areas include: - **Build & automate across the security stack**: Create tools and AI-assisted workflows for investigations, enrichment, access reviews, and reporting. - **Strengthen identity & access**: Partner with IAM to harden Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, and Google Cloud; address privilege creep, exposed credentials, and misconfigurations. Apply Conditional Access and least-privilege / privileged access best practices. - **Protect sensitive data**: Help build DLP controls across endpoints, cloud services, and collaboration tools to keep IP and CUI safe while enabling R&D. - **Enable secure development**: Work with AppSec and infrastructure to build security into CI/CD pipelines (secrets detection, dependency scanning, vulnerability checks). Provide self-service guardrails so the secure path is the easy path. - **Automate compliance**: Turn requirements like **CMMC Level 2** and **NIST SP 800-171** into code; collect evidence automatically and continuously check controls. - **Spot & fix process gaps**: Identify what’s slow or broken, propose improvements, and ship fixes—collaborating with experts across security domains. **About You** - **2–4 years** of hands-on cybersecurity/IT/cloud experience building and solving problems (not just ticket queue work) - **Curious, self-starting**: ask questions, test ideas, and learn by doing - **Comfortable with scripting/automation/AI**: Python, Bash, PowerShell (or similar) to connect systems via APIs and automate repetitive work; use AI coding assistants/LLMs effectively and verify outputs - **Cross-functional**: enjoy working across IAM, DLP, cloud, AppSec, and GRC - **Solid security fundamentals**: identity & access, authentication/authorization, networking, common attack techniques, and investigating security events **Nice to Haves (Not Required)** - Certifications - Security clearance - Aerospace experience - Startup experience **Compensation (Hiring Range)** **$111,000 – $167,000 USD** Relativity Space offers competitive salary and equity, generous PTO and sick leave, parental leave, an annual learning & development stipend, and more. **Equal Opportunity Employer** Relativity Space is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
