About this role
## Anduril Industries — Computer Vision Software Engineer (Software-Defined Weapon Optic) ### About Anduril Anduril is a defense technology company on a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s systems are powered by **Lattice OS**, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. ### About the Team The **Anduril Warfighter Systems** division is building the next generation of **precision engagement systems**. You’ll help develop a **software-defined weapon optic** that fuses real-time computer vision, sensor data, and onboard processing to improve **first-round accuracy**—including enabling **counter-UAS** engagements and other precision targeting missions. ### About the Job You’ll solve challenging computer vision problems for a software-defined weapon optic, including: - **Target detection and tracking** - **Camera/sensor calibration** - **Geometric pose estimation** All work runs on **resource-constrained embedded platforms**, requiring real-time vision expertise, creative problem-solving under tight compute/power budgets, and a strong focus on delivering capability to the warfighter. ### What You Will Do - Design and develop **real-time target detection, classification, and tracking** models optimized for **low-compute embedded environments** (e.g., Qualcomm-based platforms) - Build and refine **camera and sensor calibration pipelines** (offline and online) for multi-sensor weapon sight assemblies (including **thermal** and **electro-optical** sensors) - Develop **pose estimation and localization** using methods such as **bundle adjustment**, **feature detection/matching**, **homography fitting**, and **multi-view geometry** - **Profile, optimize, and deploy** vision models on constrained hardware—balancing **accuracy, latency, and power** - Create **testing and evaluation frameworks** (experiments, field/production data analysis, and operational performance metrics) - Collaborate with **firmware, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing** to integrate vision software into production hardware ### Required Qualifications - BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field - Proficiency in **C++** and **Python** - Strong foundation in computer vision fundamentals (camera projection models, image distortion, rigid transformations, multi-view geometry) - Experience with **geometric computer vision** (e.g., SLAM, camera calibration, stereo vision, photogrammetry) - Experience developing/deploying algorithms in **resource-constrained/embedded** environments - Good communication skills across hardware/software/firmware/manufacturing teams - Eligible to obtain **security clearance** ### Preferred Qualifications - MS or PhD in a related field - Experience with industrial computer vision systems, **counter-UAS**, or precision targeting - Hands-on experience with **Qualcomm** processors/platforms (e.g., Snapdragon) or similar embedded vision SoCs - Experience with **multi-camera and multi-sensor (EO/IR)** systems and calibration - Proficiency with math/optimization packages (e.g., **Ceres, Eigen, OpenCV, NumPy, SciPy**) - Experience deploying detection/tracking models with **TensorRT, SNPE, ONNX Runtime**, or similar edge inference frameworks - Familiarity with **RTOS** or embedded Linux - Familiarity with numeric computing platforms (MATLAB, Octave, Ju
