About this role

**Product Support Engineer — Undersea Dominance** **About Anduril** Anduril Industries is a defense technology company on a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s systems are powered by **Lattice OS**, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. **About the Team** Product Support Engineering exists to maximize the operational availability of the **Dive-XL fleet**. You’ll sit between: - the teams in the field who operate and sustain the system alongside customers, and - the engineering teams that design it. When something unexpected happens—at sea, in a maintenance facility, or in the middle of the night—you’ll investigate, decide how to proceed, and drive improvements so it doesn’t happen again. You’ll cover engineering disciplines across **software, electrical, mechanical, and systems**. **About the Job** Join the **Dive-XL** team supporting the operation and maintenance of Anduril’s **Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicles (AUVs)**. You’ll be on a rotating roster that extends out-of-hours, providing everything from immediate technical guidance to formal root cause analysis. Each request involves assessing severity, scoping the work, and investigating. You’ll then direct the engineering change, maintenance activity, workaround, or documentation fix—and own its rollout across every affected vehicle. You’ll also reduce support demand through sparing strategy, reliability and supportability improvements, better diagnostics and tooling, and supportability requirements fed into new variants during design. You’ll need depth in an engineering discipline, enough breadth to triage across others, and strong judgment when data is limited. --- ## What You’ll Do - Provide **on-call engineering support** to teams operating and maintaining fielded AUVs (rotating roster, outside business hours) - Determine what happened using **logs, telemetry, configuration, and maintenance history**; identify subsystem/failure mode; define workarounds to restore capability - Plan and lead **root cause investigations** to a defensible conclusion (systemic vs. isolated; design/production/maintenance/operation induced) - Chair **Material Review Board** dispositions and manage fleet-wide system limitations, including whether to operate in a degraded state - Turn fleet data into **engineering recommendations and requirements**, and drive changes through design teams - Build **monitoring, alerting, and diagnostic tooling** to surface problems before field reports; create **runbooks and a knowledge base** to shorten response time - Author and distribute **service bulletins**; track incorporation across the fleet to completion - Create or approve **operations, troubleshooting, incident response, and maintenance publications** - Govern the **as-maintained configuration** and **SBOM** --- ## Required Qualifications - Genuine interest and **5+ years** of professional experience in **software, electrical, mechanical, mechatronic, or systems engineering** on complex systems - Demonstrated ability to independently root cause difficult, ambiguous faults from **limited or conflicting data** - Hands-on experience with **real hardware** in an operational, field, integration/test, production, or maintenance environment - Sound engineering judgment under time pressure, including assessing acceptability of **degraded operation** - Strong coordinati
